There was nothing to like! What you see in the pictures is all there is! The model railway consisted of a very dated display in a 5ft x 3ft display cabinet, that was that done!! Then out to a small back yard where you had the model village and at the very back of the yard there was a video playing an old news clip on repeat about the floods of Polperro! The model village was very dated, nothing updated, not very good detail, some of the houses just concreted roofs, didn't see any of them in Polperro!
After that on the way out, you are shown in to an average sized darkened room where ridiculous old mechanic dummies try telling You different stories, starting with Merlin! The mechanics didn't even open Merlins mouth properly, he just twisted side to side now and again! It was that dated and boring we left after 1 minute!
We spent a total of 7 minutes at the attraction and that was too long and dragged out as we were trying to see where are monies worth was! Not a slide for the kids, no space, someone has just used, a room, part of a corridor and a smallish backyard for the attraction! Family and friends must have done the other reviews!! Lol
Do not recommend, we were bored, the kids were bored and I just felt totally ripped off even at their prices which seemed attractive in the discovery...
Read moreI absolutely love this place. I've been visiting Polperro since I was a kid, and it was a special experience to bring my two daughters here, just as my parents did with me and my siblings. The village is still as magical as I remember, though there have been some updates and changes over the years.
One notable feature that remains is the section that discusses the floods of Polperro, which caused significant damage to many homes, including the model village. It's remarkable to see it still standing. The model trains are also still there, though they now only run when you press a button.
However, I noticed that the Land of Legends is missing the voice-over parts that used to explain each section, and some of the mechanics no longer work as they once did. Considering the damage everything endured during the flood, it's impressive that any of it remains.
I will always love this place and will continue to visit it whenever I'm...
Read moreThe model village is situated in a back garden of one of the properties so we weren't expecting it to be amazing, and the price was very cheap too. But there has been a lot of time and effort put into it. At first you think it's just some model houses and think ok, not bad, but then when you look closer you realise that it is actually a model of Polperro itself. They even had a model of the model village which made us chuckle. You can go round the village in about 10 mins so don't expect to spend the day there but the prices reflect that. At the end,we were told to go into a darkened room and inside was a story of the tin mine community which was very interesting. All in all its a nice little place to visit but don't expect a huge village with trains going through and sound effects, it's simple...
