Cafe visit lovely with interesting facts about the history of the museum and lots of gifts for sale. Friendly and welcoming staff. Seperate part of the museum so you can just go to the coffee shop. Parking a little limited but can park in the village or carpark next to the coop. All an easy walk up to Parker’s yard. Decafe teas are served as a pot each, getting two cups of tea per pot. 👍 The Greek salad was great, with lots of Feta cheese and a good proportion. The Salmon toasties had a generous helping of salmon and well toasted. It came with half a plate of crisps which was fine. Perhaps less crisps and some salad would be better. Very good all the same. There is a fair selection of cakes, all nicely covered over. Can recommend ‘the blondies’ 😁 Ideal location for all ages. Good access for the older generation and some outside space for the kids. Well looked after and clean toilets. Fab learning environment. I must visit the museum the next time I go. One of our regular places to visit.

A lovely afternoon, so interesting and gripping. Anyone who likes social history or machinery or knitting or working class history or textiles or atmospheric places will love it here. We had three different, extremely well informed and interesting, volunteer guides, giving up a huge part of their time to give our tiny group of two or three visitors their full attention and making our visit really special. And we got a go on a Griswold machine! There's a gift shop with nice things for sale (where else can you buy a sew-your-own-Patti-Smith kit?), a cafe, and gorgeous gardens. Our entry ticket means we can return free of charge for a year. We will, because it's so good. EDIT: I went again, and enjoyed it just as much, at least. It really is a gem. And the volunteers are all gems too.

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could!!! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it certainly exceeded all expectations. Such a hidden gem, definitely worth the trip. The volunteers and staff were so wonderfully knowledgeable and passionate, I learned so much during my visit today. The museum portion was fantastic, I even got to try out the circular knitting machine myself! Also there is a lovely cafe where you can grab a bite to eat where I saw babies and a dog, so it’s a very welcoming place. On my way out I purchased a couple souvenirs/gifts as well. I so enjoyed learning the history of framework knitting (I had no idea what it even was prior to my visit), as well as the personal details of the Parker family who owned it for generations. Thanks for a great day!!

Beautiful sunny day. Parked in pub next meal then after the visit to the Framwork KM. We had the most delish late lunch and drinks there 5*easily.

Anyway my neices were visiting from Australia and I knew my great - neice is heavily into design fabrics and mechanical machinery!! So I thought of the FKM. On arrival so impressed it now had a welcoming modern front that also housed a shop and café attached to what was the chapel. Lovittt. This place had a vibe to me. We purchased tickets for the 4 of us and with a plan of the work cottages we were transported back to the days of when wool and knitting industries were top notch and necessary to keep them warm. We were able to have a go on the machinery were given the history and seen these amazing examples of Machinery at its very best.👏🏼 The homes of workers and especially the site manager were kept so well unique. It was there lives and their beliefs on display. So thankful, impressed too by the helpful amazing staff. The feedback from the four of us was 5* We loved the Framework knitters Museum in...

This little gem went completely under my radar for the 50 years I've lived in Nottingham! Glad I finally visited the best example of framework knitting history in the country. It's a small place but packs a punch in terms of engrossing information and actual working 200 year old machines. You can even have a go yourself and produce clothing exactly as it was a century or so ago. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and transform what could have been a very dry experience into a fascinating few hours of information and hands on experience.

Whether this sort of thing interests you or not (and I thought it probably wouldn't for me!) you'll come away with a much better knowledge of working life for historical knitters, aswell as an insight into just how important Nottingham was for the textile trade.

I for one recommend this for anyone...
