Hard to write a review for this place as it has a bunch of shops of varying quality. Best I can say is if you are driving, keep your wits about you, there is some sort of one way system in operation but no one seems to know exactly how it operates or who gas right of way. Pedestrians regularly don't use the zebra crossings and it feels like sometimes they hide behind the slightly overgrown bushes before jumping out although to be fair, they might just be short rather than in hiding.
If you like the sound of that as a driving challenge, you can play it on extra hard by going in on a day when Celtic have a home game - the park has a no football traffic policy that doesn't work and the roads and roundabouts nearby contain even more of those hiding/small pedestrians I spoke about but dressed in green and white camouflage to help blend into the...
Read moreThe Forge is a great place to do your shopping, with both Home Bargins and B&M on the retail park. There are also a choice of druve-thru food outlets; Burger King & KFC, and a Starbucks! Although Greggs is next door and also does latte and cappuccino. I would have given 5 stars but for the lack of a cash machine. There used to be two at the Tesco but sadly this store closed in March 2022 and remains empty. The nearest cash machine is now across the carriageway, outside Asda over at the Forge shopping centre. A minute's drive in the car, but if you're walking, it's quite a trek. Worth the walk though if you'd prefer a MacDonalds over a Burger King meal - you would pass the MacDonalds on the way to the cash machines. I do like a Whopper, but their fries are nothing compared to...
Read moreForge is the sort of place where you're going to go there with a reason. Less a spontaneous shopping trip and more a run for essentials. Since the Tesco has left, its hay day is long gone.
There are some great essential shops here, some fast food, some main high street shops, but it's not going to offer you anything exciting, local, or boutique.
I only go to the gym, and it's the sort of place you're going to hear weird noises at night. But it's good for what it does.
Much like other similar retail parks around Glasgow. It needs a little government intervention, investment, and thought for the future. I believe this place can be a local favourite again with...
