We were privileged to have with us last week a Danish couple who had chosen Edi Chauffeurs as their preferred method of exploring Scotland. It was their Golden Wedding Anniversary and a bespoke tour of some of their chosen locations of our beautiful country took them to the Highlands, The Trossachs, Stirling Castle, MacAllans whisky Distillery and Loch Lomond, whilst centering their accommodation I n Nairn at Boath House Hotel, an exquisite Boutique style residence. The glittering highlight of their entire visit was our beautiful town of St Andrews. During their walkabout we recommended St Salvator’s Church for a place to visit and explore. We unexpectedly witnessed a fabulous wedding with the bride and groom being Piped into the church before the ceremony and our Golden Wedding couple insisted on waiting in the adjoining University Quadrant until the service was over. We managed to escort our couple into the church after the wedding ceremony had concluded A very fitting end to their St Andrews visit - memories never to be forgotten Happy days - now back to Copenhagen to share their Golden Scottish Week

The hub of life in Scotland's oldest University, the chapel is a rare and beautiful example of late gothic architecture. Founded in 1450 as a part of Bishop James Kennedy's College of the Holy Saviour, the Chapel of St Salvator has had a long and varied history.

Stunning place, also beautiful and sacred, it has a presence of calmness and a peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful grounds and amazing architecture. The Chapel oozes of history. Loved our visit such a lovely place to come across.

PLEASE DON’T GET MARRIED HERE! The minister makes photographers stands up at the balcony after the brides entrance so if you want photos of you looking at your partner, your friends and family laughing and crying, and not just the same shot from the balcony over and over - get married literally anywhere else. Amazing chapel, terrible minister - we’ve shot at ~100 churches without issue or ever getting in the way, and this is the first that’s been terrible...

St Salvators chapel is within st Andrew's university, in the quadrangle.

It is open to visitors and worshippers. It is small and intimate. Visitors are respectful of they if someone praying.

The idea behind founding this chapel was having a place of worship for all students.

Later it opened to everybody...
