This park been on top of my list for long time! Visit for a walk/run around any time of the year! Good for picnic and bbq on a sunny day! A few people swimming there, might be dangerous as the council advise! Thats your personal decision if you wish to swim! There is a nice pub as well! Plenty of benches around or you can sit on the grass and enjoy the view. Seen people finishing there and also you can enjoy watching the ducks and their babies end of spring and early summer!

Crookes Valley Park is close to Weston Park but quite different in style. It’s reached by dropping down to the park from Crookes Valley Road and is then pretty flat. It centres around a lake which is popular with anglers. There’s also a restaurant at the top of the park and at the far end there’s crown green bowling and even a table tennis table! It’s very popular with runners and dog walkers; the perfect place go spends lazy few hours.

A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of Sheffield city centre! Even during the pandemic with the museum closed, there's plenty to see and explore on a sunny day. It's a shame the bins were full to overflowing on my visit, but apart from that eyesore, it's a scenic stroll. I particularly liked the intricate waterway and bridges, and the huge lake with its plentiful ducks! You might even say it's a “quacking” place to visit.

One of the three Crookesmoor Parks, right beside Weston Park to the south & the Ponderosa to the right. Having visited this park 4-5 years ago in the summer and again last year both in the summer & winter, its just as beautiful as Weston Park, if not more, and has a much bigger area with a larger pond, with nice views of the Art's Tower & Hallamshire Hospital. Also has the Dam House cafe/restaurant if you want to eat something and is just a short walk from the University & Netherthorpe Road tram stops, so its relatively easy to access by public transport & walking. My only very minor issues are that if you are driving there, it might be a bit tricky to find parking on busier days as the nearest parking is on Mushroom Lane and the Boathouse seems to be shut/inactive most of the time. But apart from those, I really love this park a lot just like Weston Park and it may be another favourite park of mine when I...

I love this park. It has beautiful blossom in spring, the lake is full of waterbirds, it's one of the few places in Sheffield where you can run flat intervals, and the path around the lake has very smooth tarmac so good for barefoot running. Get here early and you might see a heron hunting.

Many people enjoy swimming in the lake in summer although be warned that the middle is very deep and it's further across than it looks! There is a children's playground. No public toilets in this park but you can use the ones in Western Park Museum...

Beautiful and peaceful only come if you want to relax an enjoy the peace. Swimming isnt permitted but people do, not sure the water is clean enough and we have seen water rats not good to ingest that! Someone drowned It's not really for swimming. But most ignore these signs. The pub on the hill is nice to sit outside in tje warmer weather. But the inside and the toilets are a bit manky. The landlord doesn't seem to have the toilets sorted, smells.strong of damp the place needs some money spending on it to bring it up to a...
