We came here earlier today and we were served by the exceedingly good waiter Dermot! We were not pressured into buying any of the food and fully enjoyed being served by this man as he made us laugh while doing his job amazingly! He timed all of the service perfectly and didn’t linger around us while we decided, leaving a great deal of quality time together. Dermot’s kind nature made experiencing the meal a great deal better! As for the food, we are a very picky family and almost every restaurant we go to always has a few complaints! But here, it was completely different and we all loved our meals so much! It is very well-priced and worth every penny! The facilities were very hygienic and well set out! This includes the toilet being very clean and well designed, having salt, pepper and fresh ice water at the table upon entry! We absolutely loved the food, service, facilities and overall experience today! The chances of us returning another day are basically 100%! Thank you for the wonderful time!

Visited as part of a group, which probably detracted from the usual experience as I tend to find that the service declines notably for larger groups and this was no exception. The table wasn’t ready when we arrived just before our booked time, and there was a wait while the table was prepared- probably about 15 minutes I would guess. I don’t have a problem with the wait specifically, but more the area where we were asked to wait- the bar. This area is also a very narrow walkway for customers to use and for staff trying to carry food to tables, so you were left constantly dodging people carrying plates and constantly being asked to move for people to pass by and it just felt chaotic and claustrophobic. All the food was very good, but the service lacked any warmth with food being pretty much just called and then dumped in the relevant place with little in the way of pleasantries. Additionally, the food for all the courses was generally carried over 2 plates at a time by one person, so it arrived in dribs and drabs with some people sat with food waiting for quite a while for others to get their meals. It’s basic restaurant procedure that if you have a big table you communicate with your colleagues and a few staff group together to serve a large table together to avoid this. It all just came across a bit chaotic and disorganised from start to finish. I would also add that there is a massive accumulation of cobwebs on the walls above the food serving hatch, which is clearly visible from the opposite side of the restaurant which highlights poor attention to detail. I often think if the bits of a restaurant you can see are dirty, what are the bits you can’t see like? Overall, good food but management need to get a grip on basic standards.

We think it is a place that should be preferred with the taste of the food, atmosphere and service quality. Food: With the Prix Fix Menu option, you can have a satisfying dinner experience with starter, main course and dessert for a reasonable price. We especially recommend goat cheese to everyone as a starter. We tried three different cocktails and they were all very successful. Atmosphere: While the place was initially empty, it was very pleasant. However, as the tables filled up, the noise started to reach somewhat disturbing levels. Service: We had to send back an order due to an error on our part. With a nice gesture, they replaced the plate with a new one and did not reflect this on the bill. All the waiters were very polite and friendly. Those who want to have a nice dinner in Sheffield can try this place.

The food is good, but the portion is relatively small. I can easily have two mains on my own, which made it a bit pricy. Well maybe I eat more than average. Service is okay as the waitresses always look somewhere else other than customers, so I had to wait a long time to be served. It’s really loud in there, the tables are too close to each other. Remember to visit its website and register as its member before you go, you can get 20% off on your first visit and other offers as well. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because its loud, pricy and when I ask if they can do something as today is our anniversary they said if you didn’t register before you came, we can’t do anything, which is very disappointing. There are so many restaurants and we chose to come here, that is what we got?

I booked a table on an early Saturday afternoon at Ego for a late Mother's Day meal out. It was quite busy but this along with the decor and location gave a great atmosphere. Following our waiter's advice we ordered off the lunch menu and were not disappointed. We all had a starter and main, I had the goats cheese starter and fishcake main. They were both rich in quality and sufficiently portioned. We found ordering off the lunch menu was very good value for money. The service was all very friendly and timely- we did have a tight schedule on the day but didn't have to rush our eating and were still finished in just over an hour. If you're needing a good recommendation in the centre of Sheffield Ego should be on the list.

A lovely Afternoon, with a three course Birthday meal courtesy of EGO. (Terms & conditions apply). Food cooked to perfection from mezzes to tapas, tagines, salads, small plates available. Mediterranean style food, quite upmarket, not fast food, great cuisine. Attentive staff, friendly & charming. Suitable for couples, parties, families. Vegetarian options and full vegan menu on asking. Clean and tidy, bustling atmosphere (I went mid day). Mediterranean style in decor. Full bar. Great Gin & Tonics. And Gin & Tonic crumbles. Wheelchair seating & accessibility. Outdoor seating available (great in Summer). Situated in City Centre next to the Millennium Gallery, so can park up and walk not too far.
