I always enjoy calling in here for a pint. A big old building which is nicely situated near the Crucible and close to the Novotel and Mercure, it fits in well. There's a nice big bar in the centre serving a huge range of drinks - including at least one gluten free beer on draught (my fave is Magic Rock's Saucery). The staff are pleasant and helpful when it comes to explaining the beer types. Although not tried so far, I understand they serve gluten free options in their food offerings. A wealth of TV screens surround the bar area showing sport, which has an added atmosphere when the world snooker championships are being played next door! It can get extremely busy, which is great to see so, if you don't want the hustle and bustle when getting to the bar, try a weekday afternoon for a more relaxed experience!

Superb venue whilst the snooker is on. (Don’t know about normally, can only comment on this time!) Quick service, an excellent selection of lagers, ales and gins. The menu has some of the best plant based options I’ve seen for a pub and the food was excellent, far better than a normal pub grub. Staff were amazing, friendly helpful and even let us plug in a phone behind the bar as we didn’t have a cable. They also had a magician going around doing tricks for people who were interested. Checked that we factually wanted to see some tricks first or would have left us alone to our drinks. Great fun, taking the mick out of himself and his act this was a really nice touch. Will definitely visit again.

September 2023 Update... Still one of my favourite bars in Sheffield. Recently ate here too and the food was delicious. The beer selection is always incredible and the staff are always friendly. I also worked here for a few hours recently and the WiFi was excellent 👌 Original review... One of the best bars in Sheffield. Always a good atmosphere, amazing selection of beers, IPAs, etc. Outdoor seating with a few heaters and the cherry on top... They're dog friendly. They serve food too but I've not eaten here yet, although the menu does sound appealing so I may have to remedy that soon!

This is a really nice pub. Staff friendly, good selection of food and drinks, lovely old venue albeit a little tatty in places which in no way diminishes the great atmosphere and feel of the place. We arrived at 6pm midweek and it was surprisingly busy with a broad mixture of different types of people. We ordered cocktails and a few starters and they were all really nice quality. Will definitely be making a return visit very soon. I believe they also have live music but we didn't have time to stay for it.
