Awful manager. Told myself and my daughter to leave, at 7pm whilst we were watching the England match which had just started extra time. I understand the 7pm curfew for under 18's but a little discretion would have gone a long way. We were sat quietly and to the extent that all the people around were asking why we were asked to leave. Even the bouncer apologised but said he had to follow the managers rules. I didn't see any notifications stating this rule, as i would have gone elsewhere if i had known.
UPDATE
Thank you to the owner for taking the time to reply, however I am unable to reply to the response from the owner of the pub, so i need to add it to my initial response. Reading the reply from the owner, it is understandable on their behalf. If only it was the truth, then i wouldn't have written the review in the first place. He really needs to speak to the manager who should manage their staff and situations.
My daughter and I went into the premises to watch the England football match. She was beside me when i ordered our drinks and at no point was it pointed out that we would need to leave at 7pm. There was ample opportunity for us to be told when i ordered further food and drinks or even when the staff came around collecting glasses. NOBODY said anything until 6:58 when i was given 2 minutes notice. This was only a few minutes after i had placed another order. The people around us, who weren't in our company all were agitated by the flippant response from the manager. Myself and the bouncer spoke politely and de-escalated a situation that could have quite easily escalated, all due to the managers response. A truly awful experience that spoilt our day as well as interrupting others around us. A situation that could easily have...
Read moreBooked a b brunch for 5 of us. We had been before so told our friends and family how good it was, what a mistake!! Absolute shambles of a set up there, why do bottomless brunch’s when its perfectly clear, you cannot accommodate them? We booked for 5:30, it was 5:55 before a waiter came over, apologised for keeping us waiting and took our first drinks order. Time passed and in the hour and fifteen minutes we had been there, we had received 2 drinks. 2 waitresses left at 6 and the waiter turned into Lord Lucan as we didn’t see him again! We didn’t order food as he said “I’ll be over in a minute to take your food order” but 25 mins passed and no sign. It was an utter embarrassment as we had travelled 25 miles to come to it. In the end we just got our coats and left. Absolute waste of time and spoiled our thoughts on the Graduate. Don’t think we will return in any hurry and if you are planning a brunch, there are far better ones in town where you...
Read moreWent to book online but as I visited regularly before and after lockdown I decided to follow booking site that said if you want to discuss anything call the friendly team. I called spoke to a male staff member who told me to book online as he cannot do it. I asked to book a party of 6 but ask for raised area as we may have another person join us and told no as only have 6. I asked why when I was in before was 8 people that was out together allowed to walk in and sit near each other as 2 tables of 4. He said doesn't and shouldn't happen. He then got very shirty with his attitude saying that you have to pay £10 deposit so do I want to do it. My work team visit here 2 or 3 times a week and I come on Saturdays after work to meet my wife unfortunately we may have a rethink. Very disappointed with the attitude as all we wanted was tables near each other on raised area that does accommodate 2 tables of 4, sometimes all it needs is...
