Excellent little museum to visit, free entry. Staff were absolutely the most friendliest, welcoming and informative folk, so helpful and knowledgeable. Staff greatest asset and plus point here, superb. Hope your boss reads this! Well laid out and interesting displays in the room downstairs. Something for everyone. Beautifully presented and lots of information. There are loos just by the entrance, a little gift shop selling cards etc and stairs and a lift to the upstairs gallery space. Very good little museum. Recommended.

Not one to grumble very offten, this place has me at a loss. I really understand that a grade 1 listed building. I understand that alterations to this type of building are near impossible to carry out, but please don't advertise a place that only has disabled access to the ground floor (which consists of the gift shop & tea room) as being disabled accessible. The museum is on the 1st & 2nd floors with a flight of approximately 15 stairs to each level. We could have gone to another place & not waisted our time or fuel. Great if you want to visit the coffee shop. Able bodied go ahead it looks good from the gift shop.

This was a very enjoyable museum to visit, which is thankfully free of cost! Face masks are not needed anymore luckily and styluses are provided at the entrance, making usage of interactive boards a lot easier. The exhibitions are intriguing throughout, including ones for caving, farming and communities, showcasing historical heritage in parts. Having the gallery upstairs is a smart move since it is separated from the museum area properly, with experimental artwork really capturing the eye there too!

I love these wee museums that celebrate their locality and this didn’t disappoint - from flora, fauna and archaeology to industry and sporting achievements, this is a ram-packed compact museum that leaves the visitor impressed on many levels. The gift shop offers many interesting items relevant to the local area. A great way to spend 30-45 minutes

What a lovely little museum. Very interesting and some weird and wonderful exhibits. My niece had a go at dress up with the clothes. Gave 4 stars as would of preferred the gift shop to sell things relating to the museum ie like copies of fossils, coral etc. Other than thar it was well worth a visit. Entrance is free but we left a donation

The first time that I have visited the revamped museum. They have certainly made a good job of it and fortunately retained many of the important exhibits. But disappointingly all the longcase clocks have now gone, it would have made good sense to have kept the early John Green of Skipton longcase clock that was previously on show.
