I can't say about the gym or it's facility's as I don't use it. Firstly you're "greeted" by a miserable looking receptionist who obviously hates her job and takes it out on customers by being rude and unwelcoming, after she snatches your money you walk to the changing room where if you a vigilant you will see a sign hanging on by one drawing pin and nearly falling behind a vending machine informing you to put shoe bags over your shoes before entering to prevent foot problems spreading and how important it is, only to find the bag dispenser empty and judging by the dust on top of it, hasn't been refilled in a while. You then go into the freezing cold changing rooms where you can eventually find an undamaged locker, take a pre swim shower in algae floating shower room which is situated right next to the foul smelling, pissed stained floor of the toilets. After you washed of the rude welcome, the cold locker room and the dirt and smell of the locker room you then go into the "leisure pool" where the spectators boil on the side whilst the swimmers freeze in the water. In the pool itself are a few features like a an umbrella water fall, a fountain that squirts multiple streams of water and a little bubble spa that doesn't work. So 2 out of 3 of the very standard features actually work. There is an area of the pool which is about 1meter deep, which is clearly for children to have fun jumping in, which would be great if the ladder wasn't wrapped round in rope and tape which states that it's out of order and has been for months, when asking a lifeguard why it's still broken and when it be will fixed you get the same look you're "greeted" with plus a shrug of the shoulders and the back of the person you ask as they walk away from you. You can rely on the lifeguards to look miserable as you're children stand in the cold waiting for 15 mins to go on a rusty un-maintained water slide, which results in your child drying off only to be plunged back in to cold water where the lifeguard is looking at anything but the swimmers. Whilst on the topic of the lifeguards they all look like they could do with saving as they all have lost the will to live and I doubt any would be able to muster up the enthusiasm to help anyone who was struggling in the water. They just blow the whistle and use the rest of the energy to point at someone who's doing wrong. After your swim you can go and sit on the spectators side and cook whilst you wait for your party and spend a quid on a packet of crisps or 1.50 on a chocolate bar. There's no coffee. Or cafe. Just plastic furniture that you have to pay 2 quid to sit on if you're not swimming. Make sure you don't leave anything there either as when when we left there were about 3 members of staff in the reception area but when we needed to recover a swim suit left behind there was no one to pick up the phone. I'm sure there was but they just didn't answer it.
Years ago this place would be packed. It had a cafe the staff were friendly and helpful, the faciltys worked and were clean, the water was warm and the air was cool. It's horrible to see something that attracted familys from stamford and it's surroundings go down hill so badly. We will not be going here again and we are a big family that spend a lot to get in on admission and then on snacks.
It's a real disappointment that it's has been let to get in this horrible condition. New...
Read moreI am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received from a staff member named Toby Cunliffe at Stamford Leisure Pool. My recent visit to the facility turned into a distressing experience due to his unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour.
Upon entering the leisure pool area, I approached Mr. Cunliffe to ask for directions to the bathroom. Instead of providing assistance in a courteous manner, he shockingly spat in my face. This act of disrespect and disregard for basic human decency was both alarming and utterly unacceptable. I was taken aback by the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by a member of the staff.
To compound matters, Mr. Cunliffe then proceeded to light a cigarette in front of me, showing complete disregard for the rules and regulations within the facility. Smoking in a public space, especially within the confines of a leisure pool where health and safety should be a top priority, is not only a violation of policies but also sets a terrible example for other patrons.
Throughout this ordeal, Mr. Cunliffe continued to ignore my presence, making it clear that my concerns and well-being were of no importance to him. His dismissive attitude only added to the distress caused by the initial incident.
Additionally, I must note that Mr. Cunliffe employed vulgar language during our interaction, creating an environment that was not only unprofessional but also offensive. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated in any customer service setting.
As a paying customer, I expected to be treated with respect and courtesy by the staff at Stamford Leisure Pool. Unfortunately, Mr. Cunliffe's actions created an unpleasant and hostile atmosphere, completely undermining the positive experience I had hoped for during my visit.
I urge the management of Stamford Leisure Pool to thoroughly investigate this incident, take appropriate disciplinary action against Mr. Cunliffe, and implement measures to prevent such behaviour from occurring in the future. Patrons should be able to enjoy the facilities without fear of mistreatment or harassment from staff members.
I hope that this matter is addressed promptly, and the necessary steps are taken to ensure the safety, well-being, and satisfaction of all visitors to Stamford...
Read moreFirstly we didn't know that you had to pre book, it's been a long time since have been. But its not at all clear on the website and that you need to book. And that you only get 90 minutes. We used to take our children to this pool and 20 + years ago it was lovely and clean. Taking our Grandchildren it was not the same experience. Pool changing rooms were dirty, the baby changing station attached to wall, dirty, the cubile itself smelt of urine. I finally got myself and my grandaughter ready and we went and had fun in the pool. The pool is fine and lots of fun was had. When we decided to call it quits, we changed the grandkids next to the pool as my husband and son told me that the mens was just as bad. The adults spent as little time as we could to get ourselves dry and out. Waiting in the reception area, which was unmanned as it was lunch break and the reception lady was having lunch in the small office, I eventually went to tell her that there were people waiting! We did sit in the spectators area and 2 of the chairs were rusting away at the feet and wobbly. An incident waiting to happen, Stamford Pool make sure your insurance is good! Do better, be better! Overall a really, really disappointed afternoon. We've heard the Bourne pool is better so will give...
