Due to the nature of my job I eat out most weeks and have done for many years. My family tell me that due to this I set the bar way too high when it comes to the restaurants we go to and the food and service they offer.

Therefore I'm confident in saying The Mad Turk is the best restaurant I've been to in a long time.

If you'll permit me I'll explain:

Our children are away on a Scout camp so we were looking for a good restaurant in Stamford. Everyone we asked recommend this restaurant. Therefore I emailed them to request a table for two. They replied that they were fully booked. However we stayed in contact and fortuitously a table became available.

From the moment you walk through the door the atmosphere is spot on. We had the pleasure in eating in the conservatory with a retractable roof. The roof was closed last night and they had the patio heaters on. It was a fantastic setting, truly set the mood.

Before anything else let's be clear the staff are professional, friendly and knowledgeable and happy to have a chat and a laugh. The place was busy and yet each member of staff made us feel like we were the only people in there. There was no rushing around, we didn't wait long for our food or drinks. This place is exceptional. Truly a step above the rest.

Oh the food I haven't mentioned the food. Go and try it yourselves because it will be a life regret if you don't. We had the Ottoman Feast and it was worth every penny.

Absolutely awesome place this. Book your table,...

The environment was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly. Service was quick enough. However, I found the starters extremely expensive, unlike anything I’ve seen at other restaurants. I ordered sarma, which unfortunately wasn’t worth the price. I also had lamb shish, which was delicious, but the portion was very small, just about 5–6 pieces of meat. It was served with rice and bulgur; the rice was very dry and lacked flavour, while the bulgur was good but slightly overcooked. We also ordered Iskender, but honestly I can’t say it tasted very good. They served chilli meze and garlic yoghurt with the main, but surprisingly there was no bread. Most Turkish restaurants usually offer a small piece of warm pitta and a couple of mezes as a starter, but here you have to buy everything separately. On the positive side, the restaurant was very clean, and the garden was lovely, even better than I expected. I think they should advertise better, as the pictures don’t do the place justice. While I can’t say I was overly impressed with the food compared to some London Turkish restaurants (which is a bit of a shame), I would still return for the friendly service and nice atmosphere. A special thanks to the team for surprising us with a cheesecake when I mentioned it was my friend’s birthday, that was a...

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Mad Turk, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of exceptional; fresh, bursting with flavour, and offering an incredible variety to choose from. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, ensuring a vibrant and authentic culinary experience.

Portion sizes were generous, and the drinks selection was equally impressive, with a wide range to suit every taste. The service truly elevated our evening; the staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in.

Beyond the outstanding food and service, the ambience of the Mad Turk is simply unmatched. The beautifully set tables, draped in elegant fabric tablecloths, added a refined touch, while the food presentation, served on stunning wooden boards enhanced the overall dining experience. We dined in a glass enclosed conservatory space, which created a bright, inviting, and uniquely relaxing atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers exceptional food, impeccable service, and a stunning setting, the Mad Turk is a must visit. We will absolutely...

Hailing from London these days, there's three Turkish restaurants on every High Street. Saw the reviews for The Mad Turk but was a bit unsure whether Turkish food is still a novelty in Lincolnshire. I couldn't have been more wrong. A cosy little restaurant in a really old building and super friendly staff made this a great dining experience. But the star of the show was the food. Probably the best Turkish food I've eaten, allbeit a little pricey compared to London. I put that down to the amount of Turkish restaurants in the capital however. The quality of the meat on the Mad Turk's Ultimate Mangal was second to none and even the Sumac Chunky Fries were amazing. And then we were surprised by a complimentary dessert from the chef with ice cream, fruit and baklava. Topped off with a cup of Turkish tea, this was an incredible dining experience and I will definitely be back.
