The Lord Burghley — Restaurant in South Kesteven

Went into the Lord today for a pint . Always my first stop in Stamford when I fancy a day out . My only reason I start there is because of Holly who works there. Myself and Holly have had numerous conversations in the past and she is always very welcoming and happy to sit there and shoot the breeze. As a punter this is exactly what i am after . Unfortunately today she was not there . I was met with a woman called Fiona . People mistake her for the Landlady which she certainly is not. Very rude , very abrupt and clearly does not have the correct temperment for the trade. What a shame . Within 5 seconds of me trying to have a conversation with this woman I quickly realised that she Completely does not like working the bar . Rude , aggressive, and blunt. A complete contrast to what I've been used to in the past . So I left almost a full pint and took my money else where ....

Worth visiting for the range of beers and the price really. Had Oakhams JHB and Ten Fifty plus London Pride and another I can't recall Supposed to be reintroducing pub grub soon Good old features inside, not made the most of It feels a bit flat and featureless in the main bar as you enter. Comes alive on the usual nights when there's more people in. Just need to rejig the interior to bring...

Aggressive and rude young barman.

The ale is usually good, especially the Landlord, but I won't return as the young man behind the bar pulled a very poor Guinness and refused my request to allow it to settle before finishing it, stating that "I'm from England" and aggressively remonstrating with me for asking for a decent pint....
