One of my favourite beaches in the north east. It’s a beautiful expanse, visually stunning and good for a family walk.
It’s very popular at the trow quarry end for surfing and wake boarding. The promenade is also popular with cyclists and joggers as well as strollers.
My only annoyance was poorly trained dogs let off their lead trying to get our food or cricket ball. Wish people would understand not everyone loves dogs. Particularly when they are on...

South Shields Surf club (near the Sandancer) also provide a beach cleaning kit that anyone can use for free. Shame some dog owners do not clean up after their dog though.
