You must come here, especially if you love history. A part of me wishes I took more pictures so you could see how amazing this place is, but at the same time, I'm glad I didn't because you really need to see God's House Tower for yourself. I'm a bit of a history buff and I'll always take a moment to soak in the details, atmosphere and past of any historical landmark. I've been to a few historical sites up to now, Lancaster castle, Auschwitz, the Roman Baths (in Bath), Victorian reenactments, etc. But, GHT is by far my favourite that I've visited. The staff here are tremendous. I quite literally wandered in, the receptionist was observant and kinda read my body language. They could see I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just that I was there to explore. They just informed me of the directions to take, explained what I'd find and left me to it. Straight to the point, info given politely, exactly how it should be done. The building itself isn't that large, but the efforts to preserve are clear, with some incredible artifacts, exhibits and architecture inside. GHT is rich with Southampton's history and it played a huge part in keeping the city safe after the French raided it in 1338. It didn't just serve as a vault for weaponry or wine, but also as a prison and watch tower. All of this information is relayed to you with projections, great narration and original interior. You're even given accounts and records from prisoners, guards, stewards and more, so you can really put yourself in the shoes of those who were there hundreds of years ago. When you're there, really take your time with each room, inspect the walls and build. Notice the chisel marks from 13th-14th century stonemasons, appreciate that you are stood where guards, prisoners and more were, basically just let the history take over because this place is amazing, it really transports you back. Lastly, you can go to the top of the tower and look over Southampton. Don't just glance around, take a couple minutes to look in each direction and just imagine you were in the 1400s-1600s. Think about how important GHT was, appreciate everything you can see and enjoy the beautiful skyline/view. It's just an absolute gem, a tiny building absolutely packed with fascinating history. Really, well done to those that contribute to keeping this place up and running and to the staff. And to those reading, just take some time out of your year, at some point, and visit it's brilliant. P.S I'm a bodybuilder on a cut, (ironically, torture, haha) so I didn't get to try the cafe, but it also looked amazing. The food they had on display looked well presented and the coffee looked well prepared. I definitely recommend grabbing a cup and a pastry before leaving, based on my experience, (what I could see,) what others say in reviews, it's definitely worth it.

We had our Wedding at Gods House Tower on November 2nd 24 and it was the best day ever !! We hired out the whole building for the full day and had the wedding ceremony , the wedding breakfast and the evening reception all in once place which worked really well. The venue is absolutely stunning inside and out , and was the perfect backdrop for our day ❤️ Hannah and the team were with us every step of the way , from planning the schedule of the day , the logistics of what was happening in each room around the building , wine tasting , music testing and working with external suppliers seamlessly delivering the most beautiful vision we had come to life. 😀⚡️🫶 The team created a super cool welcome board for us , ( such a lovely touch ) found solutions to anything we were not sure about , they were fun , super relaxed and even turned the same room around 3 times and no one even knew it was happening! Master piece ! Duncan and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. If only we could do it all over again … at GHT for sure. If you’re looking for a fantastic team with a can do attitude , and the most beautiful building , this is the venue to get married in. No regrets and the most unforgettable experience. So much love ❤️ Kelly and Duncan

Thank you to Hannah and the team for hosting our wedding last weekend. My (now!) husband and I were married in the Crawford room - a fantastic venue with exposed walls and timbers. Despite being next to a main road, fairly quiet to. The post ceremony toast on the roof of God's house tower was particularly special, and the venue was happy to chill our own toasting drink and serve on the roof. Hannah accommodated all our requests and offered helpful suggestions, including suggesting use of the tower roof! Perfect venue for anyone wanting a slightly smaller wedding (Crawford room accommodated 30 guests) and great to support a local venue. Thanks!

We recently celebrated our wedding at God's House Tower in Southampton, and it was nothing short of perfection! From the moment we started planning, the manager Hannah was incredible to work with. Her attention to detail and commitment to making our day special was evident in every interaction.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, combining historic charm with modern amenities. Our guests were in awe of the beautiful setting, and the ambiance created a magical atmosphere for our ceremony and reception. The staff were professional, attentive, and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the day.

Every detail was meticulously planned and executed, from the decor to the catering, and it made our wedding day truly unforgettable. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our love. Thank you, Hannah, and the entire team at God's House Tower for making our wedding day a...
