Nestled in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, Trentham Estate is an enchanting retreat that effortlessly blends natural beauty, history, and contemporary attractions. As a visitor, I was thoroughly captivated by the estate's picturesque landscapes, intriguing heritage, and delightful activities. Upon entering the estate, I was immediately greeted by the breathtaking Trentham Gardens. Spanning over 700 acres, these meticulously manicured gardens boast an array of stunning features, including vibrant flower displays, serene lakes, and charming woodland areas. Strolling through the gardens, I was transported to a realm of tranquility, surrounded by the scents and colors of nature at its finest. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Trentham Lake, a shimmering expanse of water that serves as the centerpiece of the estate. I couldn't resist taking a leisurely boat ride, which allowed me to fully appreciate the splendor of the surroundings and observe the diverse wildlife that calls the lake home. The experience was both peaceful and invigorating, providing an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For those with an affinity for history, Trentham Estate offers the captivating Trentham Hall. Although the original house was tragically destroyed by fire in 1907, the restoration efforts have transformed the remains into a fascinating historical site. Exploring the hall's elegant ruins and learning about its rich past was an intriguing journey through time, leaving me with a deep appreciation for the estate's heritage. Additionally, Trentham Estate caters to a variety of interests with its diverse range of activities and attractions. The Trentham Shopping Village offers a delightful shopping experience, with an array of charming boutiques and artisanal stores. I found myself browsing through unique crafts, artwork, and local produce, making it the perfect place to find souvenirs or indulge in a bit of retail therapy. Food enthusiasts will also be pleased to discover an enticing selection of eateries within the estate. From cozy cafes to stylish restaurants, Trentham Estate offers something to satisfy every palate. I had the pleasure of enjoying a scrumptious meal while overlooking the gardens, a truly memorable dining experience. In conclusion, Trentham Estate in Stoke-on-Trent exceeded all my expectations. Its natural beauty, intriguing history, and diverse attractions make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a captivating escape. Whether you're a nature lover, history buff, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, Trentham Estate will leave you rejuvenated and enchanted.

Interesting destination! Missed out on the monkey forest due to adverse weather but managed to take in the gardens, grounds and strangely, retail village at the entrance. The gardens are spread around the lake constituting a decent 30 minute stroll with lots of unique and interesting carvings and sculptures dotted about. Interesting arrangements of snowdrops in the shape of flocks of swallows on the lawn-like areas. The house itself is derelict and looks to be undergoing some repairs but looks like it could be picturesque. There are also some adjoining and adjacent buildings of the same vintage but in somewhat better states of repair. The main garden in front of the house looks like it would be pretty but in the dead of winter didn't have much to show. There is a deer park skirting the path around the lake on the side near to the monkey forest and on the opposite shore, a miniaturised railway (not the type that can be ridden) There are a number of cafés nearby, mostly concentrated in the log cabin retail village. The village itself has a strange selection of shops from boutique outlets selling art, clothing, souvenirs etc along with various eateries and coffee shops. All well staffed, tended and selling quality goods. There's also a newsagent and a branch of the works! Notable among them are a shop selling their own plethora of flavoured liqueurs, balsamic vinegar and oils; and a small cabin stocked with a rich selection of hats and gloves. Surrounding the large carpark are a couple of more commercial restaurants and a hotel. Definitely a good variety for a day out. Perhaps more suited to families and children on days when the monkey forest is accessible.

Absolutely love Trenton Estates! One of the estate's highlights is the stunning lake, which is about 2 miles in circumference—perfect for a weekly walk with the dog, weather permitting. The walking path offers diverse experiences; you can choose a route that takes you close to the lake's edge for an immersive experience or a slightly further back route for panoramic views. We've heard tales of beavers in the area, though we haven't been lucky enough to spot them yet. However, the presence of adorable little calves around the lake more than makes up for it. They add a charming touch to the scenic environment. One of the best aspects of Trenton Estates is the convenience of amenities right outside the estate. There's a delightful spot to stop for a coffee and ice cream, making it a perfect rest point during your walk. Additionally, the estate is dotted with quaint cabins, each surrounded by lush greenery and offering a cozy retreat. The area boasts fantastic shops and restaurants, providing a variety of options to explore and enjoy. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a unique shopping experience, Trenton Estates has something for everyone. Overall, the experience at Trenton Estates is consistently fantastic. It's a serene escape with plenty of activities and amenities to enjoy, making it a must-visit destination.

One of our favourite places to visit. The gardens are wonderful and the retail Village is a charming area with interesting shops selling everything from gourmet foods to fashion, luggage to beauty treats. There are lots of benches to rest on which is great if you have mobility issues. The Garden Centre is excellent. The main path through the centre leads you through a houseplants section and then onto an area showcasing gorgeous smells of bath bombs, soaps and oil diffusers. Then you walk through the kitchenware/ gadgets section. After that you can enjoy beautiful pieces of art and home decor. Next is the clothing area with clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. The toy section is next with lots of traditional toys and pocket money toys. The book section is next featuring unusual greetings cards and stationery gifts. Lastly is the gourmet foods and alcohol section. The Garden Centre has a path leading outside and over the River Trent and displays stunning plants for sale. The restaurant is excellent with good quality food. Or for a lighter choice try the coffee shop with its deep comfortable sofas and armchairs. The cakes are worth trying! The Garden Centre is so much more than just a plant and garden tools shop!

The estate and the gardens are so worth the visit. I chose a Friday for my trip, the bus from Stoke Station took a little over 25 minutes before reaching the Gardens stop from where the entrance is only a 5 minute walk. You can also stop by the garden centre or go into one of the many shops located in the little village, it was lovely, the little shops look like beautiful. The Trentham Gardens themselves were stunning, absolutely recommend visiting them and having a true wonder around. The staff at the entrance was very supportive and explained the map to me. The walk around the lake takes on average 45minutes, but since I wanted to see a little more, I spent almost three hours, enjoying a peaceful walk, good chats with other visitors and trying to guess what birds and other animals I can see. The lake is gorgeous and the trees surrounding it are old and beautiful. The Italian Gardens were something unreal, it was amazing to see the volunteers and staff tending to the flowers and plants.
