Nestled in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, Trentham Estate is an enchanting retreat that effortlessly blends natural beauty, history, and contemporary attractions. As a visitor, I was thoroughly captivated by the estate's picturesque landscapes, intriguing heritage, and delightful activities.
Upon entering the estate, I was immediately greeted by the breathtaking Trentham Gardens. Spanning over 700 acres, these meticulously manicured gardens boast an array of stunning features, including vibrant flower displays, serene lakes, and charming woodland areas. Strolling through the gardens, I was transported to a realm of tranquility, surrounded by the scents and colors of nature at its finest.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Trentham Lake, a shimmering expanse of water that serves as the centerpiece of the estate. I couldn't resist taking a leisurely boat ride, which allowed me to fully appreciate the splendor of the surroundings and observe the diverse wildlife that calls the lake home. The experience was both peaceful and invigorating, providing an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
For those with an affinity for history, Trentham Estate offers the captivating Trentham Hall. Although the original house was tragically destroyed by fire in 1907, the restoration efforts have transformed the remains into a fascinating historical site. Read moreInteresting destination! Missed out on the monkey forest due to adverse weather but managed to take in the gardens, grounds and strangely, retail village at the entrance. The gardens are spread around the lake constituting a decent 30 minute stroll with lots of unique and interesting carvings and sculptures dotted about. Interesting arrangements of snowdrops in the shape of flocks of swallows on the lawn-like areas. The house itself is derelict and looks to be undergoing some repairs but looks like it could be picturesque. There are also some adjoining and adjacent buildings of the same vintage but in somewhat better states of repair. The main garden in front of the house looks like it would be pretty but in the dead of winter didn't have much to show. There is a deer park skirting the path around the lake on the side near to the monkey forest and on the opposite shore, a miniaturised railway (not the type that can be ridden) There are a number of cafés nearby, mostly concentrated in the log cabin retail village. The village itself has a strange selection of shops from boutique outlets selling art, clothing, souvenirs etc along with various eateries and coffee shops. All well staffed, tended and selling quality goods. There's also a newsagent and a branch of the works! Notable among them are a shop selling their own plethora of flavoured liqueurs, balsamic vinegar and oils; and a small cabin stocked with a rich selection of hats and gloves. Surrounding the large carpark are a couple of more commercial restaurants and a hotel. Definitely a good variety for a day out. Perhaps more suited to families and children on days when the monkey forest...

There places for the children to play , cafes, dog walkers, . The only thing they can see as a disadvantage is more people are coming to the estate . So the usual paths can be quite busy . The whole presentation of the gardens, lakes, play areas are wonderful. They have put some wooden creatures around so keep your eyes open to see them . There is private fishing on the lakes. Boat clubs , train rides on a little locomotive. Boat rides up and down the lake . Car park very busy . What do you expect on a bright sunny day . Plenty of chairs around for you to sit down and just take in the atmosphere. . You can get in cheaper to the estate if you have an annual pass . This also gives you discounts on concerts , shops and cafes if you are able to go regularly. I really do love this place especially when it’s a bit quieter to relax . 4 ⭐️ 2022. Plenty of parking .
