If you enjoy paying £24 per person for the privilege of being ignored, misinformed, and served food that could make airline meals look gourmet, then Trentham Garden Centre is the place for you.

From the moment we arrived, the staff gave off the distinct impression that customers were more of an inconvenience than the reason they have jobs. When asked about wine or drink options, the servers looked baffled, as if I’d just asked them to explain quantum physics. No wine knowledge, no clear menu guidance — just awkward shrugs and a vague wave towards the counter.

The speed of service was something to behold… if you were trying to set a record for how long a human can wait for a basic order without giving up entirely. By the time the food and tea arrived, the disappointment was already set in stone — and the food itself did nothing to rescue the situation. Bland, unimaginative, and miles away from what anyone could consider £24-a-head quality.

If you’re considering Trentham, do yourself a favour and head to The Rabbit Hole instead. The difference is night and day — there you’ll find friendly, knowledgeable staff, food that tastes like someone actually cared about making it, and prices that don’t make you wonder if you’ve accidentally paid for a share in the business.

Trentham Garden Centre clearly thinks it can charge high-end prices while delivering bargain-basement service. Sadly for them, I’ve been to better-run motorway...

So yesterday we went to this restaurant,just to have a coffee with my husband and my child wanted a Coke. Went to the till to make the purchase first question asked was what table are you on,so I replied with the number. Sat down waited for our drinks,we waited and waited they where busy but for 3 drinks didn't think it would be over 20 minutes. So I went to find out what was going on,they stated that it wasn't placed I had the receipt that told me otherwise. They said that they had walked around with the order but I was on the lookout for our order. They said they will sort it. No apology. Again we waited another 10 mins and nothing AGAIN

So again went to the counter and asked for a refund they said that it was ready and It was to late we have waited now 30mins for 3 drinks. Went to get a refund from the till had the refund yet again NO APOLOGY. My husband was waiting with my son and heard a man and lady talking about my refund. He started just "Give her the refund and GET HER OUT OF HERE" !!!! My husband went to the lady and asked what did that man say. "Was he the manager ?" He was. She totally denied that the comment was about me and said that it was about the lady who sorted my refund. One question, why would you say that about one of your employee's? You wouldn't Definitely will never go to this place again. Absolutely...

Arrived for lunch, staff explained system & we found a seat & ordered our food at till as requested. 2 americanos,1 ploughmans & a halloumi salad. The coffees took about 15 mins to arrive by which time they were cool. After about a further 30 mins we asked about our food as felt even though they were busy 40+ mins was too long to wait. About 10 mins later a waitress delivered our food & said the issue had been that the kitchen hadnt been given an order for the halloumi but at least we knew it was fresh ! . She apologised & noticed our coffee was empty so brought us a fresh cup each. The ploughmans was great & although the halloumi salad was fresh & hot it showed a definate lack of halloumi. We called the waitress over & pointed this out & she went to talk to kitchen. When she returned she told us it was because they had no halloumi & it shouldnt have been offered to us. She did offer feta or goats cheese but as by now we had been waiting over an hour I declined as did not want any further delay. She left saying she would have a word with the manager but we didnt see her or any management again. Although the staff are very pleasant I will not...
