Parking here was horrendous took us over an hour to be able to pay had to download an app app which is silly if you have no internet we downloaded the app followed the instructions and it would not work then had to phone the phone number that was on the ticket machine only for the automated voice to take out wrong details down after about trying this for about 45 minutes as was a queue of other people all moaning that it was not working my husband decided just to go and buy a bottle of Coke so he could pay in cash of £6 to use the car park this needs to be sorted out even if you could use your card to pay at the machine would be more better than having to keep downloading different car parks apps there seems to be different apps 4 different car parks. After parking we decided to have a stroll on the beach the beach was actually quite nice soft sand very windy but that is the British weather I was going to get fish and chips on the front but the queue was massive outside every chip shop had our photos taken on the board with Gavin and Stacey after spending probably about hour and a half we decided to go into Cardiff to visit a castle we would probably not come back here again as it's not very big I think if you had some more children it would be a great day out it is...

Barry Island is an absolute gem of a seaside destination! I recently had the pleasure of visiting, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a postcard.

First off, the beach is stunning. Think golden sands stretching as far as the eye can see, with sparkling blue waters perfect for a dip or some serious beach volleyball action. Plus, there's this old-school charm about the place that's just so inviting.

But Barry Island isn't just about the beach (although that's a big part of it). The promenade is where the real magic happens. It's lined with all sorts of quirky shops, arcade games, and ice cream stands. I swear, it's like a scene straight out of a retro movie!

And let's not forget about the food. Oh man, the fish and chips are to die for! There's nothing like tucking into a piping hot portion while watching the sunset over the sea. Pure bliss, I tell ya.

But the best part? The vibe. It's this laid-back, friendly atmosphere that just puts a smile on your face. Whether you're chilling on the beach, exploring the promenade, or grabbing a drink at one of the seaside pubs, there's always a great energy in the air.

So, if you're looking for a classic seaside getaway with a ton of charm, look no further than Barry Island. Trust me, it's a place you'll never...

Barry Island is a lovely place to visit, and we had a wonderful time there. It’s perfect for a day out with family or friends, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The beach is clean and spacious, with soft sand and beautiful views of the sea. Whether you want to relax, take a walk, or have a paddle in the water, it’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy the fresh air.

There are plenty of food options around, from traditional fish and chips to ice cream and coffee shops. The local shops and arcades add to the fun atmosphere, especially for children and families. It has a classic seaside charm that makes you feel welcome and happy.

The promenade is well-maintained and great for a stroll, with lots of benches where you can sit and take in the views. The colourful beach huts and friendly environment make it even more enjoyable. There’s also a fairground with rides and games, adding excitement for kids and young people.

Overall, Barry Island is a peaceful, fun, and family-friendly place to visit. Whether it’s sunny or cloudy, you’re sure to enjoy your time there. We’ll definitely be coming...

Nice from far, far from nice! From the pictures I've uploaded you can see it's really not Bad. The car park is £1 for less than an hour or £6 for more than an hour. It's quite the jump. Walking down to the beach it looks nice but then nice from far, right? The beach it's self is sand with rocks around the edges which is nice but the sea looked pretty brown. Unless it goes clear in summer (doubt it) then the really nice photos on google are photoshopped! There's 3 fish and chip places along the prominade all next to eachother. The first two had massive queue's so we went to the third. It was cheap and cheerful. The chips and curry sauce was great. Their battered products not so great. Probably why it had the smallest queue. A lot of the other places were still closed... (Covid.) The police were out in force taking booze away from teenagers. Probably a good thing. Over all 3/5. I probably won't go back and will head further west in search of nicer beaches with clearer seas.
