Sunderland Bowl — Attraction in Sunderland

Sadly on this occasion we didn't have a good experience. Our food was delayed by 2 hrs however, we purchased that online prior to our arrival and also purchased other food from the till. The food purchased from the till came straight out which left us wondering what the actual delay was! The male kitchen staff then proceeded to remove our food from our lane because he needed the trays back and my husband has to shout and ask him to return the food. It was clearly not finished with and quite rude considering the time we had waited for it. We then had an issue with our lane and the family alongside us were also effected and unable to play. Our balls were not being returned and were stuck at the back of the lane next to us. We spoke to staff who did radio for this to be sorted on 2 occasions but no one came to help. After 27minutes of waiting, we resulted in asking another lane to use a spare ball to bowl it down to unclog the balls which were stuck! This worked thankfully, however, still noone came to help at all. I understand you were busy last night but it was ridiculous. The ques for the downstairs till was terrible. All the staff were congregating at one till instead of using other tills to get the ques down. We hope these issues can be addressed so we have a better experience next time as our children love to...

Paid for a child’s birthday party here and it was very poorly organised. You have to pay upfront when booking so any kids that can’t come is money wasted. 2 of the 3 lanes we had kept breaking during the games and it took ages to have them fixed as the place was poorly staffed, so the kids kept losing interest. We requested that the food be served in between bowling and mini golf at the booths down stairs. I went down to advise them that the kids would be down soon so could the food be ready and found the booths hadnt been reserved to which the staff said they can’t stop other people sitting where they choose, so we had to move tables and chairs around ourselves to accommodate 18!!!! The food then took 30minutes to come out so the kids had lost interest again, and the party was already an hour over the time we’d advised because of the venues issues. Only a few of the kids ended up being able to stay for mini golf so the entire time ended up a waste of money. I’d understand if it was a one off but a family friend booked a party here a couple weeks before and had the exact same issues but unfortunately I’d already booked and couldn’t back out, just hoped theirs had been a one off. I’d advise no one waste their money booking a party, it’s truly shocking service and they’re blatantly not equipped to...

Arrived with 4 children and 4 adults. The supporting sides were not put up on our lane for our 4 children to play which we didn’t realise till after 1 bowl. We went down stairs to the desk to ask for them to be put up as we had asked on arrival and I was told to go “upstairs to the bar” I stood in a queue for 10 minutes to then be told he couldn’t do this and return downstairs. After another trip back downstairs to the desk to ask for help the children were waiting around for 20 minutes to play. We then waited ages for the children’s food x4 hotdogs and chips and when I approached the bar I was told that a tray left on the end of the bar was our food and the food was left there as no one could find our table. The food was stone cold! All children left the food. We waited 45 minutes for the x4 adult meals and had to ask several times how long the wait would be. Adult food did come out hot which was a bonus considering the issue with the children’s food. There was a clear lack of staff on and majority of tables had dirty food trays left on the tables. When we went to collect the golf clubs for golf the children had to wait as no one on the desk. The children waited 10 minutes for someone to attend the main desk and help.
