Frimley park lodge.

The car park here is fairly large and is free to park in. Very rare these day. There are several pitches and a 3g pitch. The playground for the children is good. Also pitch n putt on site. The cafe on site is great for meals with hot and cold drinks.

There is a lovely canal path for long or short walks. Personally I did a long run here and it was absolutely stunning. Everywhere seemed very peaceful. Plenty of wildlife if you are interested in seeing that. Again lovely canal which stretching far and is very well maintained. If you go outside the car park and head over the bridge & inbetween the two houses there is more stunning walks next to the canal. It is signposted North canal. For the avid walker you will not be disappointed.

The postcode for the car park is GU16 6HY.

I found this place very memorable and look forward to...

Fantastic place. Great for walking dogs, lots of people walking dogs off-leash all over the area. Really nice for walks as you can walk through the fields (which are regularly cut), there are trails through the wooded areas and you can walk along the canal which is easily accessible and not too deep for dogs that want to jump in and cool off. Lots of benches and bins all over. Lots of shaded areas for hot days. Bunnies around in some of the longer grass areas. Fenced kids playground. People do cricket and other sports in the fields sometimes, and they have a park run that runs there every Saturday at 9am. There is also a miniature railway which runs usually one Sunday a month (costs £1.50 to go on) which is great for kids (see their website for more details). Well laid out so it’s easy to find your way back without getting lost and I get good 4G/5G...

Nice place to spend time with my preschooler and baby. There's a small cafe, picnic tables, public toilets, and a playground that's fine but seen better days but due for a refurbishment shortly. Lots of shaded woodland paths to walk around, and open grassy spaces for ball games etc, and the tranquil canal with geese and ducks. We mostly went for the miniature train ride, which runs on certain Sundays, bank holidays and special days. It's great fun for children, running along a fairly long track through the woods, and only £1 a ticket for age 3+ (free for under 3s and my baby also loved sitting on my lap for the ride). You can also buy a double loop if it's not too busy, for £1.50 each. The queue gets big by 11am when it opens so get there early if the children don't mind...

I visited a couple of weeks ago to do the parkrun that takes place there on Saturday mornings. The parkrun I can wholeheartedly recommend. It's the friendliest volunteer group organising it that I've come across so far. Anyway, the park is lovely too. Good facilities with a shop, café and toilets. The parking was also free. It got very busy mid-morning so if you want a guaranteed spot then turn up early. The grounds were nice too. The run went across grassy bits, along the river and through some woods. There's plenty of open space to play on and have a picnic. There were a coupe of picnic tables outside, but not that many as far as I could see, so perhaps bring a blanket or your own chairs. Overall though a nice place for a walk, game of football, or picnic.
