Yes, with the right weather Harbour Arm can be a romantic place rivalling anything the Amalfi Coast has to offer* There are some stylish little, highly authentic bars on it, where I would happily have sat all evening watching local life. You certainly feel a long way from London. Well, you ARE a long way from London, but you feel it, if you know what I mean. Good work Margate, we'll just turn a blind eye to the chaotic Dreamland fiasco. *I haven't been to the Amalfi Coast.

Margate can hardly be viewed as a romantic place, yet the corner of the town encompassing the harbour arm, Turner Gallery and small area around The Square and just beyond has a certain attraction. The light that encouraged artists such as Turner to get out their paint brushes is frequently evident and there is nowhere better to appreciate it, say, at evening time, than from the harbour arm. There is even a limited amount of (pay and display) parking there.

The Margate Harbour Arm is a great place to visit during in the summer months. It is home to some very popular micro bars and cafes. You will often find live music playing from the Lighthouse bar at the end of the harbour arm on weekends during the evening. If you enjoy a spot of fishing it is also a great location for a variety of species. The harbour arm is also an awesome location for any photography enthusiasts. A must for anyone visiting!

Beautiful Spot with Great Atmosphere

Margate Harbour Arm is a fantastic place to visit, whether you’re after a stroll by the sea, a bite to eat, or just a spot to sit and enjoy the view. The setting is beautiful, with stunning panoramas over the coast and the town, especially at sunset — it’s one of those places where you can’t resist taking photos.

There’s a lovely mix of independent cafés, bars, and little venues along the pier, which gives it a creative and welcoming atmosphere. It feels lively yet relaxed, perfect for grabbing a coffee, enjoying some local food, or a drink with friends while watching the waves.

The combination of sea air, art, music, and the general buzz of the place makes it feel unique. Whether you’re visiting Margate for a day trip or you’re a local looking for somewhere to unwind, the Harbour Arm is definitely worth...

There are a number of artisan establishments on the fresh arm similar to those found within the old town. There are a couple of bars selling real ale and places to eat.

The area is now a lot safer for young and old since the addition of railings in 2017.

There is a public toilet which serves all these businesses as they were built for the fishing industry I believe so don't have public loo. The said toilets are very dated and could do with modernising and a lot of air.

There is parking but it is privately owned, so it is expensive and there are no free disabled parking, however the gallery has parking nearby. There is disabled access just bear in mind it is part of old margate. Popular with people...
