Large sandy beach ideal for a walk, being dog friendly all year round. The Pulhamite cliffs heading towards Ramsgate are very striking and reminiscent of the sandstone cliffs at Hastings. Heading towards Broadstairs they transition to the natural chalk cliffs. There's a paved promenade running along the base of the cliffs. The north-south orientation means this is best used earlier in the day, as it loses the sun in the afternoon. One of the concrete shelters was painted with local points of interest, though the others looked disreputable at the time of my visit...
Read moreMost of the sand here is covered twice a day by the high tide so always worth knowing when low tide is when visiting. At high tide the promenade can still be walked but there is only access through to Dumpton Sands near to low tide. If walking to Dumpton there is a nice walk back on the cliff through a park.
