Typically pleasant British beachfront with numerous options for food and drink, including reasonably priced fish and chip shops. The beach is sandy with some rocky parts a little further into the surf. Lots of seaweed grows at these points, and the beach can be rather green - but it's perfectly safe to swim. There are the typical seaside amenities nearby, such as shops and stalls selling beachwear, buckets, swimming gear, etc. It gets very crowded at peak times. My photo shows the end of the day when most people have already left - and it's still busy. Safe for families with children but is quite loud, as it attracts a lot of large groups, teenagers and Bluetooth speakers. For a quieter visit, try Stone Bay just a few mins walk Northward along the coast. Stone Bay has only a single vegan (I think!) beach shack for food, but it's far more peaceful and much...

Broadstairs ๐Ÿ–

If you are looking for a day by the seaside with everything that should be included, look no further... Broadstairs has it all!

From golden sands, coloured beach huts, sticks of rock, and of course fish and chips by the abundance, you won't be disappointed.

A day in Broadstairs really is like taking a step back in time, with all the history surrounding it as well there really is something for everyone.

Broadstairs is very proud of its links to Charles Dickens, you won't go far without seeing either somewhere the famous writer lived or something named after him. Broadstairs even has old victorian rides which are fully working and to be enjoyed by everyone.

All in all Broadstairs really is worth a visit and could even become your new favourite seaside town.

Broadstairs......

Beautiful sandy beach and lovely seaside shops by the beachfront where you can pick up fish and chips, ice cream and other food and drink. We went on the hottest weekend in Aug, and the place was packed with sun seekers, but the the beach is really nice with soft sand for kids to play in. At the start of the beach front there are trampolines for the kids to play and also a cafe to get your food, drink and ice cream from. The beach has a lot of seaweed which made it smell a bit, but as it was really hot, and the sea was lovely to puddle in. We did a walking tour of the beach and you can see it on youtube if you search for Geek Street Travels and Viking Bay. We went for a day trip to Viking Bay and will definitely return again as there is lots to do, great amenities and the...
