Viking Bay is the epitome of a quintessentially English seaside, with beach huts, a bandstand, a parkland area with manicured hedges, and meandering paths leading one to the next treasure. The view from the cliffside promenade, which boasts a plethora of benches to relax upon whilst taking in the landscape, or simply people watching, is nothing short of wonderful, with Bleak House towering above the whole bay. The town of Broadstairs , directly off the prom, holds more joys. Morelli's Gelato, probably the best ice cream parlour in the S.E of England; Dickens House Museum, where his inspiration for the home of Betsy Trotwood came from in David Copperfield; a high street filled with quaint, independently owned shops selling an eclectic range of goods, plus so many restaurants and cafés it's almost impossible to choose which one to frequent. You can look up the different activitys and dates and times online or advertise at your local...

The golden sand and varied array of buildings around the bay lend it a memorable character and provide some good photo opportunities. A board walk has been installed to make the beach more accessible. Much busier than I like during summer, but great facilities for a family day out if you don't mind the crowds. The Pavilion on the Sands restaurant and Tartar Frigate pub are almost on the beach, and there are shops selling beach gear, ice cream and fish and chips nearby. Also plenty of activities for children in the...
