AVOID.. if you are going to spend big money on a three course meal and a bottle of expensive wine please go to another local establishment! I was greeted by the young guy saying “you know where you are going do you”? How rude as i entered the restaurant! I requested a table a month in advance and was given a rubbish table facing the workers.. two tables were free by the sea view but was told i cant have them!! Why? I booked almost a month in advance, probably as some of their friends had requested and were given priority!! Good luck with that as they wont be spending the money we do! .. total disgrace considering i double confirmed the table.. they have lost a customer who did use to spend countless pounds with them year on year.. the staff were rude, unhelpful, overworked and totaly dispresctful.. nothing like any of the other restaurants in broadstairs.. AVOID and go to a better establishment who are respectful and professional.. this is a sham of a restaurant.. the owners need to read the other reviews about the staff! Check out all the 1* reviews, all about the staff… they need an UPGRADE of new staff and management of this restaurant!!
UPDATE: In response to the sad reply below, clearly getting desperate. I am compelled to inform who ever is responding to the review, of the actual facts which now contradict what your response states.
Firstly there was no warm welcome, my family, 2 adults and 2 young girls btw, were greeted in a sarcastic smarmy attitude, explained above!! Thats on your CCTV? Unprofessional and disrespectful …
Secondly there were many empty tables with sea views but when stating to your manager could we have one of those tables (all seating the perfect number which is 4) she refused us and rushed off without engaging us.. that will also be on your CCTV.. so again total disregard to us and completely against your stated policy? Down right rude!
I would advise the owners to look at their staff.. all the 1* reviews state the same.
We eat all over the world and the staff experience was the worst from outset, rude, arrogant and totally different to your response as explained above! Change of...
Read moreMy friend and I had been looking forward to eating at Posillipo, having had what we remembered to be a lovely meal on our first visit to Broadstairs a few years ago. It was late Sunday afternoon and the staff, who could not have been nicer and efficient, found us a table outside. Amazing location and great atmosphere, busy but not noisy. So far so good.
Unfortunately, the experience did not raise up to our expectations. This was due to the following reasons:
food was pleasant to eat but bland, nothing more than average. The base of the quattro formaggi pizza was really good but the pizza had too much ricotta on it, which was clearly the dominant flavour. The linguine al gamberoni was ok but it lacked a bit of a kick, maybe more garlic and / or chilli? The tiramisu also lacked flavour: I could not taste any alcohol and hardly any coffee. Everything was perfectly edible, with good size portions and reasonably priced for the location, but not tasty enough to make us want to eat here again.
whilst eating outside on such a lovely afternoon was definitely the highlight of the meal, the experience was let down by waves of smell of rubbish/rotten fish. We suspect the rubbish storage was located underneath were we were sitting (right hand side by the stairs)? The odour was not constant (otherwise we would have asked to be moved to a different table) but significant enough to get noticed.
Overall we had a pleasant evening but we would have wished for more flavoursome food and definitely we could have done without the...
Read moreDISAPPOINTED .Table for 4 . Waiter took 1/2 hr to bring us bread and olives, bread only came when prompted by manager, clearly they”forgot “. 1 min after bread arrived our meals turned up. So now where buttering bread while our food gets cold. . Asked for fries with my veal meal. Fries didn’t turn up to I had me last mouthful of food on me plate. Again they FORGOT Advised management fries were not wanted now. These were taken off the bill. Other people thought the pasta they had was as tough as an old toe rope. We didn’t say anything as given up by then. What BUGS me most is when your paying around £120 why can’t they get simple things RIGHT??? Like cooking pasta . The staff apologised for getting some things wrong , but it was more of yeah sorry, but we’re not really sorry because you’ve had your meal and there be other people along sitting in your seats in a minute. Too much of a casual yeah right ok apology. So for this you get a £11 SERVICE CHARGE,not against service charge as boost waiters /waitresses earnings. But WHY WHY service charge when the service was not up to standard.. Do you as a business think this is fair and just? Would love to know, when as a customer How bad service has to be be before you as a business VOLUNTARILY take a service charge off ,OR just take an extra £11 quid or so off customers as they’ll “ probably pay it anyway “ it’s called milking your customers. POOR SERVICE. Service charge was taken...
