If you're going to Tintagel anyway and it's a nice day then the post office does have a lovely garden to sit and eat an ice cream in (they don't sell ice creams but you can take food in from other amenities). Don't make a special visit though. I understand it is a very old building and they're therefore limited with what they can do, but having exhibit information in brown envelopes and folders is impractical and unappealing for visitors. It may as well not be there. We only went because we were in Tintagel for a walk, lunch snd ice cream anyway, but the 4 kids (3-7) were very disappointed they didn't have the Easter trail they had been promised. I had checked the national trust website that said the trail was daily, it didn't say anything about certain locations only doing it on some days. The staff seemed pleasantly surprised so many families were turning up. It's a shame they didn't realise the disappointment they were politely hiding as they briefly viewed the house. National trust, you need to inject some life...
Read moreCentrally located along the main road, this very antique building is managed by the National Trust. Featuring a rich collection of furniture with detailled descriptions of each of them, the building structure shows the signs of its evolution already from outside, where the heavy weight of the roof gas deformed it's shape during the centuries: the original, medieval one was a lighter thatched one. By entering it the visitors is plunges in the past, the eyes captured by the interiors and many objects in it. Charming and beautiful, it's definitely worth a visit. The ancient little Post Office inside della lovely and...
Read moreA nice old cottage with lots of history. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. It's not a large site so you won't be here for more than half an hour or so. It is in the middle of the village so not out of the way. If you are visiting Tintagel then it will be worthwhile to add to your itinery but I wouldn't travel a long way just to visit as it would probably take longer to travel than the time spent inside.
The garden is very pretty. There is parking nearby in the village and they wrap up second hand books with nice descriptions on labels to buy for just £1. Children books also. That...
