Absolutely amazing. My fiancé and I, family and friends stayed here this May as we got married in Saint Materiana’s church on the top of the cliff at Tintagel. A beautiful church by the way and well worth a visit.

As we pretty much took up the whole hotel we got a good deal on the rooms and Kat and Jamie bent over backwards to accommodate us. It would be out of our price range at any other time but being a wedding and right next to the church it was fantastic.

On the 2 nights we were there both managers were in attendance at varying times and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Jamie. He made sure we had everything we needed, which was everything I had forgotten throughout our stay such as the flowers, tin openers, an ironing board etc. Every time we got flustered and ran down to the bar for help, he was on it without a second thought all the way up until my partner got into the wedding car. Calming me down each time I looked like I was going to pass out, looked after the flowers for us as we had to pick them up the day before and just all those little things that normally get missed were attended to.

These guys really know how to look after you and their service is impeccable. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I could afford a weekend. As I said it is very pricey but you get what you pay for and they did not disappoint. The breakfast there was very tasty, a decent size and very well presented. We ran out of tea and just as we were going to ask for more, Jamie was there with another pot! Kat was in and out like there was a fire underneath her and nothing was too much bother. Even with lots of “can I have that without that and this with this” etc etc. she was on it and both of them looked like they really enjoy their work.

As some other reviews state, yes the rooms are small (bar the garden suite) but at the end of the day the place was built in the 1300s when we were a lot smaller and probably didn’t have king sized beds!

For the room they have had to work with it is spot on and I would rather deal with a smaller room than have this place get knocked down and turned into flats (which I believe was going to happen before the current owner stepped in, watch Four in a Bed on Channel 4 catch up)

The cleanliness was second to none, and we were very impressed with the array of drinks available in the rooms. The beds were comfy and the showers were powerful but make sure you don’t turn the heat up too much.

There’s a car park with one space for each room which is a god send in Tintagel. There’s some lovely Scotch behind the bar and they keep their beer very well. The waiting and bar staff are polite, friendly and helpful. You will more than likely need to book as even though the food is on the pricier side, there’s a reason for that. It’s lovely and cooked by a damn good chef, so again, you really do get what you pay for and their dining spots seem to be very much in demand.

As another review pointed out it is a very small bar area but it is more of a restaurant than a pub so I don’t see the issue.

Overall we had a fantastic time here and I cannot fault the managers and their staff or the hotel itself. They went above and beyond to make our stay special and that just made our wedding all the more memorable.

Thanks again guys, we hope to see you again for a drink when we’re down this August so keep that aged single...

We first ate here last year and it was lovely. Great food and service with top notch local Real Ales! We visited again on Monday, the food was really nice and the service very attentive. Although it’s now getting pricey, particularly with the (optional) 10% Service Charge added! We had already booked for Valentines Day. Unfortunately the food was just not as good as, or as consistent as the two previous visits! My Partner had a Picnic Plata, which she really enjoyed. However, on the second visit there was much more Olives & Bread, it also came with Balsamic Oil. Although welcome on the second visit, it seems there is inconsistency in portion sizes and what’s included! I had the Pork Pie starter, the accompanying elements were really tasty, but the Pork Pie lacked flavour and the Pastry quite soft, a real shame. For a Main I had the Chicken Caserole dish again, which was excellent on the Monday. However, this time the Tomato flavour on Monday was now missing. Also, there was less Sausage and the Sausage was not hot. I also choked on a large piece of piece of seasoning, probably Thyme, it was about 7cm long and was in the Sauce. My Partner had the Aubergine Curry with Potato Air Puffs & Onion Bhaji. The Onion Bhaji was ‘gloopy’ in texture, the Air Puffs were missing and the Curry became very wet. Probably as a result of including Aubergine in the ingredients! To be fair we mentioned that the food was not as nice as before when paying for the meal. The Waitress immediately said that the Service Charge was optional and not to pay if we had issues. But we had no issue with the service, but there are issues with consistency and quality! We paid for the meal with Service Charge. A ‘bit of a mixed bag’ for us. Excellent when on form, but disappointing when not, especially at that price point. Four Stars given for...

A great pub/restaurant in one of the oldest buildings in Tintagel with absolutely outstanding food. We found relief from a particularly hot and sticky day in Tintagel within the solid, cool stone walls of this beautiful establishment. After ordering and enjoying some cold drinks we were tempted by the offerings of the delicious sounding menu. After much deliberation and some tough choices we decided to order a seafood bisque, the bread and olives sharing platter and the bacon cheeseburger. All of which turned out to be excellent choices, so I am sure we would have been happy with whatever we ordered. The burger in particular (for me) was outstanding -perfectly cooked so the meat on the outside was properly crisp and the centre juicy, and well rested before serving so the juices didn't soak the bun and end up becoming all soggy. Burgers are often the boring choice on a menu, and can be so hit and miss but this was definitely one of the times it exactly hit the mark. Something so simple, done to perfection is truly a joy. The staff were also all very smiley and all were friendly, efficient and attentive which makes the whole experience so much nicer. We had very quick service despite how busy the place was, and even though we were tucked in a corner it was easy to get service when we needed more drinks. The food also came in a very timely manner, which was a pleasant surprise again given how busy it was. Great location, great service, great food, great building! All in all a thoroughly amazing experience and I would definitely recommend.

I stayed here recently and can honestly say it felt like a home away from home. I have PTSD and I’m neurodivergent, so travelling can be daunting — especially as this was my first solo trip in a long while. On my first night I was feeling a bit unsettled, and the room I’d been given wasn’t ideal for me personally. Tikes, however, was incredibly kind and immediately offered to move me to another room if one became available. That thoughtfulness meant a lot. From then on, I just felt safe, comfortable, and completely welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is delicious, and the cleanliness is impeccable. The inn’s location in the heart of Tintagel is perfect — you can step out and be surrounded by history, scenery, and everything the village has to offer. The views around are so pleasant, I was able to walk around feeling so safe even late at night or early hours of morning. I also want to mention how much I appreciated the care and attention from everyone here. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s somewhere you can truly relax, and for people with anxiety or nervous system sensitivities, that’s priceless. The prices are reasonable, the setting is charming, and my experience was magical from start to finish. I can’t wait to return and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Cornwall. P.s dog friendly!

As soon as you walk in there is a lovely cosy'pub' feeling. There was a great selection of drinks to choose from, including some excellent hand pulled beers from the local brewery. The service from all the staff was just right. Attentive, but not over the top. And finally, the menu was just a bit different from your normal pub menu, in a nice way. We opted for the Lamb Kofta and the Chinese sharing board. Beautifully presented and just a brilliant combination of flavours. My only mild criticism, because I'm a slightly deaf old bugger, is that the acoustics in the dining area we were in, meant that we could clearly hear all the conversations on tables around us, which made it interesting, but difficult for me to hear my wife!! As I said, a very mild criticism that didn't spoil our experience overall. I don't write reviews that often but this experience needed to be shared! PS Very dog friendly.
