17/35 on my tour of TeamSport tracks. The final track within a reasonable distance of me!
I'm pretty split on this experience, the track was great, not multi-level like many of the other locations but I appreciate the all tarmac surface making it much easier to get to grips with the track and set a good time. Unfortunately a few things were odd compared to other experiences and this is the first time I've ever left below 5 stars.
The 50 lap experiences are always a bit of a gamble. This session was full with 16 drivers, including my friend it seems that only the top 3 were regular members although 12 of the drivers were "members" but they definitely weren't that experienced. While we were waiting to enter the karts it was a good 5 minutes before a member of staff thought to tell everyone to check their kart numbers and enter the karts.
You get a few practice laps before the 50 lap race starts and then you join the start grid at random which can affect the full race. I started in dead last whereas the fastest driver started in 1st so I knew straight away I wasn't going to win. Not a problem though, I'm happiest setting good lap times and achieved 35.118s on my first visit (502nd on the leaderboard as of 29/09/2021). What I wasn't happy about was the fact kart 19 was blatantly ignoring and overtaking on yellow flags, ramming other drivers and then at the end of the race exited the kart before everyone was back in the pits, something which staff are usually on top of. On one of the yellow flags I looked back with 4 karts between us and then you'll see him pass me and my friend while still on yellow (find the video on YouTube). This annoyed me so much so I stopped on an amber light and mentioned to a member of staff, this made no difference and I continued to witness kart 19 ram other drivers and ignore yellow flags. As they were clearly a member and their behaviour was so easy to see I do find it quite disgusting that staff did nothing.
My other gripe is the lights at this location were useless. There were no green lights, the amber lights weren't on every section and the red lights were nowhere near visible enough. It's easy to see on the video when you're able to look around but while driving they were impossible to see (see the part I rear end my friend in kart 1) and without a green light you had no idea if the amber lights had stopped. At other locations you get regular 9" LED squares that always shows Red, Amber or Green.
The track though, really, really good, I loved the layout and it was very easy to get to grips with.
It's a shame that some easy to avoid problems tainted the session and I do hope they update the lights but this is the first experience I've been disappointed by the staff due to their inaction.
I'd love to visit on a members night and improve my time, I surprised myself with my time on this occasion.
I'm touring all the TeamSport locations, please check out my Karting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen arriving for our session at team sport, my party had high expectations as we have been to other Team Sport locations previously. The experience has always been thrilling and very professional, unfortunately at the Trafford location it was quite underwhelming. When greeted by the receptionist/host we was very impressed. He went through the briefing being very informative and professional, he also took the time to ask the group if we had any questions/tips, which he answered in a polite and exceptional manor, so no faults with front of house. Unfortunately when we went to have our session 1/2, it went down hill. In other locations, we have had time to go round the track a fair bit, possibly 16/17 times in the space of 15 minutes. Sadly at the Trafford location, it wasnāt consistent with what we have experienced before. The Asian employee (sorry we didnāt catch his name) was very moody and did not look accommodating in the slightest. When the track would go amber or red he would slowly pace to the part of the track that needed attention, leaving us only having around 3/4 laps in the 15 minutes total. So combined, with both sessions that were meant to be 30 minutes, we recorded that everyone only went round the track 7 times in total. He would also black flag any player that he thought that needed to be spoken with about rules ect. For example, I was personally black flagged for having my visor up slightly (to let the condensation out) and he black flagged me for this. Now I would understand this, but when I was paying attention to the briefing; it instructed the group that we should in fact have the visor up ever so slightly to let the condensation out. The employee made the whole experience not worthwhile, and should defiantly have more training, even if that means he just watches the briefing himself! When you pay so much to go to team sport and itās been to excellent in other locations before, you expect a certain standard which unfortunately this employee lets down for your company. I will defiantly be going to the other team sport locations, which I have been in the past. Possibly they need to put less people On the track at one time too, there must of been 15 people at ones time. Iām not one to make reviews like this, but the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen a lot of times but just had to leave this review as it was extremely disappointing and not outstanding customer service at all, I went with my family but only 3 drivers including myself (on 26/12/2024). The staff where excellent apart from one person called Kieran who was one duty as one of the marshals where you get geared up (helmets gloves etc) , he was extremely rude and I told him that I had a go pro which was fully payed for, for both sessions , the first session I remained him about 5-6 times and his response was Iāll get it later , but it was only after about 10 minutes into the session baring in mind that it was only x2 15 minute sessions that we had he did not once apologise or make it correct.
The second session, he was very rude and even stated being rude to one of my family members who was a woman and I had to remind him a further 3-4 times about the go pro for myself which was fully payed for in advance. He stated being rude towards one of my family members who was a woman by shouting in her face telling her to go (aggressively) even though she didnāt get indicated or acknowledged by Kieran to go ahead and start he then proceeded to treating her like she was a kid / getting hot headed (and even hot headed with myself) even though we were on an adult only session!
I even did not get an acknowledgment when I went to the reception desk to get my medal , Kieran got asked to get hand me a medal (as you get a free medal if you come 1st 2nd or 3rd), he did not give me any sense of accomplishment/ achievement for coming 2nd he just pushed it into my hand with his coat hud up and no words or anything!
We did not get any acknowledgment or apology from Kieran himself but when we flagged it up with one of his work colleagues, the work colleague apologised upon Kieranās behalf without Kieran even present at the time!
Leaving 2.5/5 stars as nothing is 5 stars, but losing one star for this individual as the names in the word āteamā .. and also losing another 1/2 stars for making it a negative time, when it should by positive, fun, exciting and...
