Leigh Sports Village: A Local Gem Leigh Sports Village, a modern, state-of-the-art facility nestled in the heart of Leigh, has quickly established itself as a premier venue for sporting events and community gatherings. Its combination of accessibility, affordability, and top-notch facilities has made it a popular choice for both spectators and participants alike. One of the most appealing aspects of Leigh Sports Village is its convenient location and ample parking. The stadium is easily accessible by both car and public transport, and the on-site parking facilities ensure that visitors can arrive and depart with minimal hassle. The proximity of the parking areas to the entrance means that fans can quickly and easily make their way into the stadium, avoiding the long walks or crowded walkways often associated with larger venues. Another factor that contributes to the appeal of Leigh Sports Village is the affordability of its food and drink offerings. Unlike many stadiums where concessions can be prohibitively expensive, Leigh Sports Village provides fans with a range of options at reasonable prices. This allows visitors to enjoy a meal or refreshment without breaking the bank, making it a more accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone. The stadium's excellent floodlighting system is another feature that deserves praise. The high-quality lighting ensures that matches can be played under optimal conditions, even in the late afternoon or evening. This is particularly important for night matches, as it allows spectators to fully appreciate the action and atmosphere without being hampered by poor visibility. While Leigh Sports Village offers many advantages, it is not without its drawbacks. One of the most common complaints is the difficulty of exiting the car park after a busy match. The traffic congestion and limited exit points can sometimes lead to long wait times and frustration for departing visitors. However, it is important to note that this issue is often exacerbated by the popularity of the stadium and the large number of people attending events. Despite the occasional traffic congestion, Leigh Sports Village remains a fantastic venue for sporting events and community gatherings. Its combination of accessibility, affordability, and top-notch facilities make it a standout destination for both locals and visitors. Whether you are a passionate sports fan or simply looking for a great place to spend an evening, Leigh Sports Village is...

It was my first time ever at a football match, lol, and I'm so glad I went! Man U women's team was bloody awesome, and I managed to record a goal.. I'm going to seriously cherish this memory! Didn't think I'd be as loud as I was😅 3-0. What an amazing day! The weather was brilliant as well. The only reason for giving 4 stars is due to the fact that they remove the lids of the bottles. I mean, I ain't one to keep hold of things, and I noticed that neither are other people as there were spillages on the steps. FYI to the staff, please just leave the cap on a drink bottle and prevent any hazards. Other than that, the stadium was wow, and we could sit anywhere in the stand. One of the funny things was when we were all requested to stand for the national anthem as it had been the coronation 2 days prior, but no one knew the words until the end, when the people in the stand to the right of us, said "God save the king" I mean?🤷🏽‍♀️ sorry, but a lot of us couldn't help but laugh 😆 if any royal fans happen to see this. Sorry. Thanks to the Man U womens team and the lovely staff at this place who were so helpful. Got myself some merch too - how could I not.. 💯👌🏼 women brought it home, and they gave it their all, if not more on...

As a sporting venue, Leigh Sports Village (LSV) is typical of the modern sports ground. Free parking, with proximity to a supermarket, pub and hotel coupled with additional training and exercise facilities means it offers a comprehensive experience for spectators and participants alike.

The spectator experience is a stadium which offers the usual food outlets and has decent toilets. It lacks the bells and whistles of larger stadia with no screens or commentary bring played during the game for those who sneak off early for a pie at half time. They are also selling tea with milk already in it, which isn't quite British...

The single biggest issue with attending LSV is that it is a bit isolated, not being close enough to Manchester to make the journey a quick one. There is a single access road in and out which can lead to lengthy, half hour or more queues getting in or out on busier days. Public transport is available but obviously the location means it is less flexible than more centrally located places. This means car access is probably the easiest way to get there but then you have the access issues already mentioned although if you can get to Leigh Bus Station it is only 10-15 minutes...

Absolutely awesome stadium to attend a match at, especially the Leigh Leopards but Manchester United Womens and U21's matches are held there too. When the Leopards are playing there, the atmosphere is absolutely amazing as well as the pre match build up which includes fireworks, flags being waved and awesome music. Design of stadium makes for good acoustics. Concourses nice and modern, not dated looking like at other stadia. Accessibility is great too, as there are well signposted accessible toilets in every concourse and every entrance to the stands is level access. Very autism friendly as well, I for one as an autistic supporter of Leigh Leopards have been let in through the exit gate on two occasions as the stewards thought I found the turnstiles overwhelming. Another thing the stewards do is offer a limited number of ear defenders on match days for autistic supporters (I usually bring my own). Very fun and accessible way to experience rugby league (and women's/academy football too!).
