We booked a table for a get together with family today, there were 9 of us. We arrived at 15:15 for our 15:30 booking and we were seated and the member of staff was brilliant. The staff member continued with us right through to ordering our food. We were then given salad dishes for salad by a second member of staff, that is when it fell apart. We waited around 30 minutes for our starters to be brought out. Then once we had finished them we sat waiting for our mains for around 40 minutes, the mains were brought out and put on the table alongside the empty/dirty starters plates which were left on the table; these stayed there for the remainder of the meal. My husband and I are vegetarian and ordered from the festive menu Mushroom Galette which is marked up as VE, we thought this would be a safe option. When the meal arrived it came with a Yorkshire pudding, a stuffing ball and pig in blanket. We asked the attendant if it was a vegan and she went to ask, when she came back she said we hadn't specified we were vegetarian!!! It said it was vegan why did we need to specify? As we were with family we let this go, but just to say the main did not advertise a Yorkshire pudding anyway but it did say there we would get a paprika and tomato sauce which we didn't get... Once the mains were finished we sat and waited but after almost an hour no one came, my husband went and asked for desert menus and they were brought but not the festive menus which we were eating from. We had to go back and have them changed. We ordered our desserts which were brought within about 15 minutes. Can I just say here we still had dirty dishes from our staters and now mains on the table. We then wanted to order coffee but we were left for a further 30 minutes so my husband went and asked for the bill from the bar. As no one came to take our payment we once again went to the bar and paid. This was the worst experience of our lives at a time when we wanted to celebrate with our family. Absolutely diabolical, we spent £170 and would have spent more had we have been serviced better. We will never come back again after using your restaurant for years. Please see pictures of the menu which states the order we made was vegan even though your chefs added meat to it because we didn't specify and the piles of dirty plates on the table whilst we were being served other courses

Come here quit often Withy my family when visiting. Love the unlimited salad option with all the condiments. However more recently they don’t have full selection and would like more variety. Great choice of food and menus spoilt for choice. Ordered from the festive menu but unfortunately the vegan option was not available which was really disappointing. Food was generally good. They were very accommodating giving us time to arrange ours as and take this family photograph. I ordered an expression martini which tasted awful and when I checked it was correct but a pre made one, definitely don’t recommend. They did replace it with an alternative. The other complaint I have was that it was freezing and half of us had to sit in our coats and took away from the experience. Would have been 4 star but this took it to 3 The profiterole dessert was absolutely delicious 😋

We visited Harvester for the very first time as a result of receiving a 50% discount on mains via the Blue Light Card. We were pleasantly met upon entering and showed to a table. I was going to use the Harvester app to order. However, the waitress said it wasn't yet up and running, so she took our order. We took up the offer of the free salad bar and it was very good. Pasta, coleslaws, tomatoes, beetroot, etc. It was very fresh and tasty. We ordered the Chicken, Bacon & Waffle from the ' Something Different' menu. The chicken (2 pieces) was delicious. The chips tasted just like the frozen chips we have at home. The bacon (3 rashers) and waffle were ok. The Harvester was very clean, good service and the food was OK. If you use the free salad bar, I think it's value for money. Not so much if I had to pay the full price for just the mains.

I don’t usually write reviews but this needs to be brought to others attention who want to go out for a nice family meal and have it ruined. We had travelled an hour and a half to come to this pub to see our nana for the manager herself to shout in her face. When we first arrived there was nobody at the door to seat us so we had to seat ourselves. When the food arrived the chips were cold so my nana went to the bar to ask for a replacement and was stood there for 5 minutes waiting for a member of staff. She said hello as she saw staff hanging around in the kitchen. She has had a full bleed on the brain, has had a stroke and is partially blind. Due to her brain injury she may speak a little louder than some but never did she once be rude or shout at anyone. We then ordered 2 more drinks where my 17 year old brother had a pint. Despite having an adult with him, the manager then came over and said she was going to have to take his pint as he’s breaking the law and drinking underage. We simply asked the question of whether if someone is 16+ aren’t they allowed to drink with a parental guardian. The manager was then very rude again, pulling faces when talking to us. She then proceeded to say my nana was rude to a member of her staff earlier on so when she explained that she wasn’t rude and only asked for help the manager said that they didn’t have many staff in which is why nobody was behind the bar to help. Except when said manager was speaking in an aggressive manner to us the staff were stood around at the bar looking over, laughing and trying to intimidate us but yet they were “short staffed” apparently. We had my autistic brother at the table with us and this made him feel scared and worried due to the way the manager was acting towards us and the way her staff was stood laughing at us. I’m so disappointed in our first and last visit at this pub. This was the first time we had saw our nana in a while, we wanted to treat her and this ruined...

The food was absolutely lovely when we went, however service was below mid. We were taken to a table that still had crumbs and stains all over it and when we asked the waitress to clean it, she only cleaned half of it. Our party was a large group and so I asked the waitress to re-read our order to us to make sure it was all there. Despite doing that, the wine she brought over was not a rose - it seemed she had no knowledge of the menu when taking our order. We waited a while for our salad bowls because our waitress forgot and when she did bring them over, she brought us dirty ones which we had to ask to be replaced. Our booking was for 8pm, however there wasn't much left in the salad bar and so we asked a member of staff whether they were going to restock it, to which one staff member cheekily replied 'well you did come quite late didn't you'. 8pm on a Saturday is quite a busy time for restaurants (as I have worked in hospitality myself) and so if an 8pm booking is classed as 'late' to your organisation, then don't advertise your kitchen is open till 10pm online. We do not appreciate your staff insinuating it's our problem the salad bar is half empty. Again we waited ages (considering the restaurant wasn't rammed) for the small little things like butter, bread roles etc to be given to us when asking the staff for help. We also heard our waitress complaining to other staff members about wanting to go home because she couldn't be bothered to work and caught her rolling her eyes at our table when doing check backs and restocking our cutlery. Again the food was really lovely but the service made our visit extremely unpleasant as it seemed like the staff didn't want to be there. We have been to the Harvester before and service has never been as shocking as this. The gent from our table that paid had left a £10 tip, however we would like this to go to the kitchen...
