I want to start off with I loved this theater, I make the hour drive bc I simply love it but I do believe the last visit I had would be the last one. It started off with being denied entry for the first twilight movie for the marathon. While i understand if there was a set policy on entering movies past the start time but there wasn’t. The manager, who ever was managing the box office, while super respectful, very nice man, did not do his best in providing the cinematic experience, i stressed that we came from over an hour away for this and if he could understand our situation and allow us to see the movie we had paid for. He stated that at 1:01 they stopped letting people into the movie, our movie was scheduled for 1. I found it a little ridiculous that the corporate office would set such an extravagant policy for such a high volume event, this place added many shows. I asked the gentleman for a copy of this policy or where was it posted because this was important information and I believe a customer should of been aware of this one minute grace period, I would have not suggested this theater if I was aware knowing how far we were coming from. The gentleman stated it was a policy that was per their discretion that was only applying to the twilight movie. I didn’t want to upset the man because he started to seem nervous and it in a way wasn’t his vault. I gathered information because at that point i just wanted to sit somewhere and wait two hours for the next movie. We had a nice time hanging out in the bar area, we stretched out legs and counted 17 people coming in and out of theater 2( where our movie was playing) The gentleman stated this would not happen as they were enforcing their policy. While waiting, because of my pregnant friends, they were curious on some of jthe items specifically the fountain drinks as having Pepsi is not as common, the concession worker did not know what the safety data sheet was, I explained to her and she got the manager who brought it. Although the item wasn’t listed, the gentleman was as helpful as your resources allowed him to be. I would recommend reorganizing the binder and updating the items on the list as it’s not very easy to locate one online either. I would also recommend retraining the concession staff to be knowledgeable enough to answer questions before getting a manager. I did not want to let the rest of my visit be affected by not being able to watch the first movie so when the second movie started I was seemingly bamboozled. My chair was literally falling apart, and then my seat was in an obstruct view seat. As funny as that sounds i couldn’t help but laugh and know I’d have to again face a manager who probably would not provide a cinematic experience. I found the nearest crew member , a heavier young man, and he stated he’d get a manager before the next movie started and nothing, the movie started and I was left with my broken, obstruct view seat:(. It gets worse, after the second movie I went to the bathroom, the bathroom has 3-4 soap dispenser, no soap in any on them, so I go to the other side because I assume it’s because of the marathon and SAME EXACT THING. Once I was able to wash my hands thanks to a customer who had weird paper soap, I told another crew member in the concession stand, that crew member said thank you, will get right on it, and then continued their conversation with their pals. This soap situation continued to the next movie, I did not even bother saying anything instead I walked into the men’s bathroom to wash my hands bc I guess women use too much soap? Finally the last thing, I had asked the concession stand what time would they stop making the food at the extended restaurant/pickup and I was told that they would be offering the same menu items for the last twilight movie, I asked for reassurance that I would be able to get tenders for the last movie, they said yes. To my surprise, they were already closed up. At the end my friends and I did not have the...
Read moreSo I went to Marcus theater (Addison) My whole experience was disappointing and super unsatisfying. I used to love to go to the movies for the whole experience and now I prefer to pay to watch a movie at home because it’s not the same. Sadly. I’ll share my experience detailed so hopefully something can be addressed to the people working then.
So I went to watch The Quite Place: day one showtime 7-12-24 9:10pm, got there around 8:40ish pm First of all the girl that scanned my ticket didn’t even welcome us in nor say anything else but “your movie is 7 on the left” I’m not asking for a full welcoming parade but at least a “how how are you?” “Enjoy your movie”. After we went to the concession stand to grab some snacks. Awful experience. Dude waved us to his side with a straight face 😐 “what can I get for you” didn’t even look at us just stared at the screen, I asked about the nachos and he pointed at the bag of Tostito chips and we have the bags. Okay, so we got large popcorn (tasted old), 2 nachos that we had to literally build ourselves, yeah…it’s not like before where the nachos were hot and ready for you. Medium icey and a bar drink. So $40+ . When I go to the movies I loveeee the whole experience. I don’t mind spending the money on snacks but they were awful 😞 On top of that the guy forgot to give me my change I had to ask for it when he gave us all the items. Also our theater rooms ac was off so it was so hot in there. Until eventually someone else there went and reported it so we had some ac. I hate writing bad reviews, but this one has to be done. Going to the movies for some people is our highlight of our day/week. The magic of the movie theater is gone, poor costumer service, you don’t even get a hello, not even looked at at all, eyes to the ground or the screen. Sad. Anyways hope...
Read moreI used to come here as a child with my family. Just this Sunday, it was my first time coming back after being gone for so many years. I have to say, the theater redesign is beautiful. It looked well put and the designs and structure of the building fit what it’s supposed to be and had a tasteful design for movie lovers. While I enjoyed the reconstruction of the building and the comfy seats and spacey show rooms, the one thing that really brought it down from perfection for me was the concession stands and the fixed seating. When my family and I were about to get ready to go to our show, we went to go get our showtime snacks and immediately we can notice what an utter mess it was. I am a reasonable and flexible person, I understand when there is a wave of people, it’s hard to keep things clean and pristine, but the thing that caught my attention the most was how understocked and how dirty the self service of drinks, kids, straws, and napkins were. I waited an hour before the show and it still stayed the same. The second thing was the arranged seating before you even got to the show. Personally, I am a person who likes to be given free reign and I like to sit together with my family. While the diagram shows exactly where everyone will sit, I didn’t expect one of us to be kinda far from the group and to feel excluded due to how spacious the show rooms are. It’s a minor set back but just something to keep in mind if you like to be together. While it may have flaws here, it still is a beautiful place to visit and is worth the dough to go enjoy a soda pop and popcorn and kick back to the film you...
