From the moment we walked into La Hacienda in Addison, Sergio immediately made us feel like cherished guests. His warm greeting set the tone for an absolutely wonderful evening. Despite the restaurant’s lively atmosphere, he managed to strike the perfect balance — being attentive without ever hovering.
Sergio’s knowledge of the menu was spot-on. He guided us through the specials, including recommending the fajita nachos and chicken tortilla bowl — both of which were flavorful crowd-pleasers, fresh and satisfying . He anticipated our needs before we even asked, from refreshing our drinks to offering extra salsa and chips.
When it was time to order drinks, Sergio suggested their signature margaritas — just as other patrons often praise the strong, fresh drinks here (). Whether you’re a margarita lover or trying something new, his expert recommendations definitely hit the mark.
Throughout the meal, Sergio’s timing was impeccable. Each dish arrived at the right moment — no rushed plates, no long waits — just a seamless, well-paced dining experience. His friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for the food heightened the meal. We left not only full and happy but impressed by his dedication and charm.

Read moreWe went there in the first week of April, the restaurant looked nice. They played fun Spanish music through out the evening. We were served nachos and salsa immediately, but weren't served water for nearly 15 minutes of being seated at the booth. We had to remind the waitress more than twice for water. Our appetizer, Mini Taquitos was served hot and fast along with our cocktails (A very yummy Mango smash Margarita and a Mojito). Everything after this was disappointing to the point of regret. We were pestered for all of our orders every 2 minutes because the waitress had to leave. We requested her to not bring the food at least until another 20 minutes because we were not in a hurry to leave, and she agreed. When we were ready for our main course, our food was served cold. Fajitas on a cast iron pan didn't sizzle neither was the food even warm. IT WAS ALL COLD. Meanwhile, our water was not being refilled until we asked for it at least a couple of times. We ordered a chocolate cake and fried ice cream for desserts, and the cake was not fresh.
As for the restaurant and it's maintenance, it has a few things calling to be repaired. Like a bathroom stall that won't lock and a faucet that doesn't work, a few decor pieces with missing parts. Not worth penalizing, but basics like the bathroom lock and the faucet can be repaired by anybody.
Overall. we regret going to this restaurant, and do not...
Read moreStars added for: Festive atmosphere. And the hand-shaken jalapeño margarita was excellent. (Fresh lime juice is key) Food was edible but not off the charts. (Stars subtracted) When exploring an unfamiliar 'American-Mexican' Restaurant, I usually order Chili Rellenos to test out the place. If they do THAT well... then I'll be back. It wasn't done well. Covered in a chunky stewed tomato sauce with a funny taste. Just guessing but, It presented like they had all the stuffed, cooked chilies sitting in a hot Nesco somewhere in the back, and they plopped it on a dish (that looked like it was also one of a multitude of pre-prepared beans, & rice plates,.. they just looked too... settled) and then covered it with the sauce, assembly-line style. The pastor tacos had generous quantities. But the meat was diced in small cubes and very dry. Looking around, I noticed MOST folks were ordering the regular margaritas (left side of menu), which had a kinda green glow to them (sweet and sour mix predominant). So I highly suggest choosing their 'hand-shaken' choices and a decent Tequila instead. Only one kind of salsa offered, a spicy red. (No verde or habañero) Fresh tortillas made right there were very good. Service (Irene) was spot on and attentive. Will I personally go back? Probably not... but for that jalapeño margarita? Could...
