I took a friend who was visiting from NY. My friend is quite demanding and particular when it comes to food. I must say that I was happy to see her eating all of her food with such gusto! We went at early afternoon, at a time that it was not crowded. The waitress was very attentive and catered to all my friend's requests, that were a few. The requests were simple such as tea, warm water, but the waitress kept her jovial disposition and went out of her way to please her. There were other members of staff who came to our table as they were concerned about the sun hitting on us. However, my friend liked the sun, and she politely refused their offer to close the shades. The food was excellent. WE ordered several appetizers and made a meal out of them. The mofongo and the broth were delicious, as the rest of the food. I must say that I have always been pleased with the quality of the food at this establishment, but this time, as my friend communicated to the waitress: "Please tell your chef that I felt the love he put into this food he prepared." Maybe it was the time that gave them the extra time to take care of us, maybe not, but, either way, my friend was happy, and...
ย ย ย Read morenice sandy beach to hang out for sure and close to the local little food stops along the boardwalk. However the break water, or rock jetti, was designed so locals can launch boats there. The jet ski rentals also launch from there daily and make thier way to Crash Boat beach as well as alot of charter companys depend on that ramp to pick up customers. The town has buoyed off an area for swimming only however be mindful it is a local boat launch still. An even better option would be to head to crash boat 15 min away and jump off the pier, lay on the beach, and have a nice snorkel. There are always food vendors selling local dishes there as well.. I think you would have a better time at Crash boat and the ocean always seems cleaner. Be mindful of your trash and do your part to keep our local beaches nicer than you found...

You come to a nice size parking lot area. They have two locations, but one is used for vehicles that are towing boats. Across from the parking lot are a few businesses you can purchase snacks, sandwiches, and beverages.
If you go a bit earlier, then you should be able to get a spot under a plam tree. I write to bring your own items to make yourself some shade. The water is mostly pretty calm here. You have your fish that swim by, and the water is so clear that you can see the fish.
My only concern is the boats that park too close to the shoreline and take up space where people should be swimming and enjoying themselves. Plus, they have a jet ski business on this location that you have people who shouldn't be driving them because they aren't...
