I preordered Madden24 a few months ago at the Alabaster location. I got a call Tuesday (08/16/2023) informing me that I could pick up my copy a day early on Thursday (08/17/2023) by 9:30pm. Being a former employee of gamestop I knew it was standard for the store to stay open til 9:30 so everyone who preordered had a chance to pick it up early. In addition to that, I also know that the closing Key holder probably doesnt want to stay there for too much longer after close because people want to go home and close the store down. However, he informed me at 9:07 that he already closed the store down, shut the doors, and that I was supposed to be there at 9pm sharp (which is NOT true and NOT what they told me two days prior) So i drove past the store and just like he said, the doors were closed and I wasnt able to get my copy. I even went in to the same location today (about 30 minutes ago) and asked the same girl that called me to confirm the info that she told me Tuesday, which she did. Im usually not one to complain or even go through the hassle of posting reviews or complaints but last night left a bad taste in my mouth. The reason is because they were closing in 40 minutes and it’s a lot of work he said. He was very agitated and raising his voice when I asked him why was I told it’s a full two year warranty no questions asked but now he says 40 minutes isn’t enough time not to mention that I drove 30 minutes. He told me he “wasn’t doing it because he could refuse service to anyone he wants that his coworker told him that today and his coworker was smarter than me. Two employees had walked to the back for several minutes each as we thought they were looking for the item. After being in the store about 20 minutes and the 3 employees were all at the front desk working on something else, we approached the desk again to get answer.
