My husband and I stopped to have lunch on Sunday at the Alabaster location...very disappointed.. I ordered a bbq chicken salad with no dressing just extra sauce on the side, my husband ordered a plain chicken baked potato and of course our drinks. After a reasonable wait they brought our food to the table. My husbands order was correct but I was brought a grilled chicken caesar salad. I told the girl that's not what I ordered and she asked what I ordered and I told her again. At this point they had gotten kinda busy and I waited 10 minutes before the next salad was brought out and it was lettuce and grilled chicken only. She sat it on the table in front of me and I couldn't believe my eyes I started to get upset because my husband was almost finished eating! I carried it back to the register and there was a different woman there, I explained my problem expecting her to be a little sympathetic but instead she said "this will be the third time that we make this salad for you. What did you order?" So I said bbq chicken salad no dressing, you know the one that has lettuce, tomato, cheese, cucumbers THAT salad the one I have ordered several time, why is that so hard? So after she acted irritated about having to fixit three times I just told her I would rather have a refund my husband was finished eating. (Besides I've heard the horror stories about complaining and sending food back in restaurants). She didn't like that I wanted my money back either and made the excuse that the girl that took my order was new but did give me my...
Read moreI love Full Moon! I used to eat at their location near Lakeview area a long time ago. Now I usually go to Alabaster, Pelham, and hwy 280 locations. We've enjoyed everything we've gotten from every location, which means a lot, because some restaurants have small differences between locations, but I've never experienced that with FMBBQ. I know every time every thing from the tea, to the sandwiches/plates and desserts is going to be consistently good! Their chicken sandwich is my favorite! They really load it up with incredibly tender chicken. I love it with the chow chow and pickles, but when I want a little less of a kick, I get sauce only. Either way, it never disappoints. The desserts are so GOOD! It's hard to choose! The carrot cake is so delicious and my husband loves it so much, we bought a whole cake for his birthday! Surprisingly, the price was comparable to grocery store prices rather than upscale bakery, which is what it tastes like. I'd choose their carrot cake over any bakery cake any day. The coconut cream pie is amazing... just the right amount of coconut for a little crunch. I love the chocolate as well, so it's always a difficult choice. The cookies are great! Chocolate chip with a hint of pecan, half dipped in chocolate. I even like to put them in the fridge and eat them cold! I occasionally eat at other BBQ places simply because of friends or family wanting to meet in other locations, plus it's always good to compare. Hands down, this is...
Read moreFull moon is my go-to BBQ. The chopped pork is piled so high that you need a fork to eat what spills from the sandwich. The sauce leans to that cane sugar, molasses sweet with just the right amount of heat/tanginess that complements.Traditional Southern sides are always hot and delivered to you quickly ( I've never waited very long at all) I skip the chow chow myself though others like it. Think Slaw on an onion based mustard kick/ this would definitely, if on a sandwich , lean it to the Zang some desire in BBQ. If ordering the smoked chicken, you get get 1/4 or 1/2 plates and are available white meat. Any pit produced meat can be ordered without sauce if preferred. The corn on the cob is a full ear. Oh, and desserts are worth a mention. I have personally tried both the keylime pie and carrot cake, the first with a richness topped in ample whipped cream and the last delicious( not over spiced) with plenty of peacans and cream cheese icing. Very moist and you may find you like it even if you aren't a carrot cake fan. They do have a coconut pie and famous moon cookies ,the size of your full hand. The interior is comfortable cool but by no means cold and the walls are wrapped in all things Alabama and Auburn Football. Tvs abound, but they aren't turned up . Mostly sports events or sports news ,primarily football, is shown. These are hung high upon the walls, so surprisingly, you can eat quietly and converse freely with a minimum noise heard only from...
