🚨 AVOID COMPUTER RENAISSANCE AT ALL COSTS 🚨 If I could give zero stars, I would.

We are BEYOND disappointed with the service—or complete lack of it—we received. My partner brought in his brand new 2025 all-in-one touchscreen work computer with a cracked screen. We were told they’d provide a quote and get the part ordered. A day or two later, they said it would take two weeks and cost around $1,100. After thinking it over, we went in to pick it up, spoke to an employee, and agreed to move forward with the repair. He said “no problem,” they’d order the part, and we’d get a call when it arrived.

That was the last we heard from them.

Two weeks passed—no call, no update, nothing. Joe went in to check, only to find his computer sitting on a shelf, untouched. A different employee told him the part had never even been ordered. When Joe asked why, the answer was, “Well… I guess that’s just Craig for ya.” Seriously? That’s your answer?

Joe asked AGAIN to have the part ordered. They said they’d call the next day. They didn’t. Three days later, Joe called THEM and was told they couldn’t order the part after all.

So—no communication. No progress. No accountability. Just excuses and laziness.

And now the worst part— 🚨 UPDATE (6/11/2025): The same day we picked up the broken computer from them, we immediately took it to a professional shop in Eagle River. They opened it in front of us and found:

About 8 screws were completely missing

One screw was something close to a SHEET ROCK SCREW—literally damaging the inside of the machine

The actual screen + labor? One-third the price

Part is in stock, labor is $80, and turnaround is quick!

So not only did Computer Renaissance do nothing to fix the computer, they actually made it worse with careless, damaging reassembly. Their quote marked up the part by over 100%, which is just outrageous!?.At this point, it’s not just bad service—it’s unethical!!

This computer is used for work. Time is money, and they wasted both.

We will NEVER go back. We will never recommend them. The BBB should be aware of this type of service..

⭐ Take your computer to Eagle River instead. They were professional, honest, and showed us everything they were doing. Computer Renaissance? They shouldn't be touching anyone's tech....

The employees are friendly and personable, making it really easy to approach them with help on fixing your computer. (I even got a great recommendation for a new Netflix series to watch.) In that regard, they would earn a much higher grade than what I'm giving them now. Unfortunately, when it came to actually fixing my laptop, I was left somewhat dissatisfied.

To start with, the reason I brought my laptop in was because it had issues with its screen flickering. So I asked what was going on with it, they explained the problem and the solution, and I left the laptop with them to get it fixed. Paid a bit under $400; a bit pricey, but not that big of a deal. If I could use my laptop again without wanting to stab my own eyes out, then it'd be well worth the cost.

Unfortunately, while the initial screen flickering problem was now vastly improved (though not completely fixed), new problems had been introduced. For example, I could no longer adjust the brightness setting on my laptop. And when I took the laptop back, within the warranty period mind you, I was told that I would have to pay about $500 to get it fixed because certain parts would have to be replaced. Five hundred dollars! Just so I could adjust the lighting again!

I paid the initial $400 to get my computer fixed; not to have its problems replaced with other problems.

So instead I took my laptop to a relative who used to work at Geek Squad and he fixed it in about 15 minutes without even touching the actual hardware. Additionally, he found another problem that had been introduced to my laptop, in that the computer was processing 100% of the disk space all the time, hence why my computer had become so much slower. He is now very kindly fixing it for me.

Looking at the other reviews for this store, it seems that as a whole they do a good job, and I don't think it's fair to judge them based on one bad experience, especially since in the end what I got was an improvement over what I had. However, if I ever go there again to get my computer fixed, I would definitely make sure to get a second opinion on the issue, and I recommend anyone else who goes there to do the same....

DONT GO HERE TO REPAIR!!!

They had my computer twice for a month each time. The first time they I brought it in there they were supposed to fix my broken touchscreen. They broke my screen and had to keep it to repair. They Gave me my computer back and the keyboard wasn’t working, I asked him what was wrong because it worked perfectly fine when I gave it to them. They said that my computer is known to have keyboard malfunctions. I sent my computer there to be repaired and they gave it back to me with a broken keyboard And the touch screen is still broken. They told me they would order me a part for the touchscreen and never did. I went to Portugal and they told me to bring it back when I get back And they would fix it. When I got back they said that they didn’t think I was going to come back from Portugal so they never ordered the sensor to fix my touch screen which was broken when they gave it back to me also. After it was all said and done I now have a computer with the keyboard that does not work and they are saying that it cannot be fixed. That is not true. It can be fixed. They did not want to pay for their mistake.

I did bring it back a second time and they had it for a month, they still returned my computer without the keyboard working. Brian lies to me for months about the status of my computer. Later found out they went through 3 screens to fix my one after almost 6 months of dealing with them. I’m not Even 100% convinced that they actually did break three computer screens, I honestly think they just did nothing to my computer for the months that it was there (Besides to do more damage). every day that I called to ask when I would have my computer back they would tell me by the end of the day.. they told me by the end of the day for months. I can’t stress that if you need your computer do...

Went to get thermal paste which was reasonably enough priced considering they markup other products over a 100% (ie GPUs). Shopping here is supporting scalpers and this business is part of the problem. Would not recommend. Never thought I would say this but go down the street to best buy for a better deal. ** Update After Owner Response** Owner is clearly lying. Even his employee felt guilty selling them at marked up scalper pricing. Added pictures to show proof. Enough said.

Genuinely great group of guys that obviously have a lot of experience and are efficient, the gentleman helping me helped install all my software with me only asking help for windows WHILE WORKING ON A PC he also fixed my wiring that I plugged in wrong. These guys are great know what they are doing and are very friendly there should be no debate on where to go for pc related stuff.
