Glam Nail Bar and Spa — Attraction in Albuquerque

I was really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but once again I'm left disappointed with the service I received here. Not only did my appt start 15mins late I went in to have my nails redone because they started to crack and chip after only having them for 1 week (dip) so this time I wanted to get gel I picked out a cat eye design that they said they could do however that was not the case because the lady doing my nails couldn't do the design and so then I asked if I could just do another color instead she said yes but the remainder of my service she had attitude she nicked my fingers with a file she was scraping excess polish off of me with her nails, she did not remove the previous polish correctly so now my nails are bumpy and rough. When it came time to pay they tried to charge me for the design she could not do. Then the manager got attitude as well when I questioned the charges. If you can't do a design just say that and stop wasting customers time and money.

Response: Don't worry I will not be returning, why would I want to spend my money on poor work and be disrespected when it's brought up to your attention, very unprofessional and I'm sure I will find a salon to meet my needs because what I was asking for was the bare minimum!

2nd Response: not once was I disrespectful towards your staff only tried to explain why I was unhappy with my nails and you didn't want to hear it correct? And its real funny to me that you say that my expectations were unrealistic when the design I wanted was on your display. You were very quick to tell me not to come back when that was the first and only time that I have complained to you about the services I have received. You were very rude and your response shows your lack of professionalism. I will never go back to your "salon" nor will I recommend it to anyone ever again in fact I will do the opposite and every chance that I get I will be telling people about the awful services I was provided as well as how rude you all are. I decided to give Glam a shot because they had good reviews. I get dip done about 2-3 times a month for the last 9 months at my usual salon and it lasts 2-3 weeks with no issues at all. Well at Glam I had a 5:15 appt and waited 20 minutes for them to start my regular pedi. It felt rushed and uncomfortable with them removing my dip from my hands while in the pedi chair, I did not get to relax. And when it was time to pick my dip colors I had no help choosing colors. I showed them a photo and they just handed me the basket of examples to look thru. But my hands were gloved with foil on to remove the dip so it was insanely difficult! I couldn’t find the colors I wanted so I finally settled on two shades of pink.

The pedi came out horrible, with parts of the polish still see threw and not fully painted. I was shocked they said I was done.

For the dip mani she asked me if I wanted them cut and I said only a little. She asked if I wanted to keep the shape and I said yes definitely.

I did like the technique she used and it seemed like she was careful but then I realized she had cut my nails so short! It was way shorter than I preferred and then she finished filing and the shape was not at all what I had before!

I asked her to reshape more oval like I prefer and she said she couldn’t because they were too short. Seriously!?

She did not push my cuticles back enough and it spent hardly any time on them at all.

Well now it’s only been 1 week and I have a huge chip and crack already and growth because she didn’t take care of my cuticles.

I even told them when I had arrived that it was my first time here and I usually go somewhere else but I wanted to give them a shot.

All in all I am very dissatisfied and wish I had stuck with the place I usually go.

The only thing I would rate higher would be the atmosphere but I don’t like how the pedi chairs are arranged in a circle.

I won’t be going back to glam.

First time here, and very nice, clean place. Reasonable prices. I had acrylic taken off and he did amazing, very attentive. Although I had higher expectations for this place, since I kept hearing good things about this place. But what didnt really set the bar was when we came in we just requested a mani and pedi, not knowing they had a variety of options for pedi with no sign to indicate it either, so I just got gel pedi.

Another thing was that no lotion was applied to my feet after the pedi and hands after my mani with no cuticle oil how most places do. I dont know if it depended on the type of manicure you get.

And the different services I didnt see Until I was paying, I seen their services in a book at the desk.. maybe promoting their services prior in a brochure when sitting down for pedi to know what your getting. However, overall nice place with nice staff.

After a week my gel is chipping. It an okay place. Could be better and...
