Misleading Reviews - Unprofessional Service
My first visit went well, I had my 18 month old with me and the employees really did decent job on giving me a new set of acrylic nails while I was juggling my child. My nail stylist was Jennifer. I was charged $30 for a new set and shellac paint on top. My second visit, 2 weeks later, I came in for a fill and a new coat of shellac paint. I was taken care of quickly, but by the end of the visit I had noticed a few things done unprofessionally. I paid and tipped my nail stylist, Jennifer, and had to wait for my ride. After paying, $30 for a fill and new coat of shellac, while I was waiting to leave, Jennifer approached me to apply cuticle oil to my cuticles. This is something that, A. Was NOT done my fist visit B. Should've been done before I paid. (What if I wasn't waiting for a ride and I had left immediately after paying?) After I left I realized that not only were the end tips (the edge between top and bottom of nail) not painted consistently on every nail, but that my actual nail was separating from the acrylic on top. I called and explained the separation over the phone and was told I could come in to have it "repaired". I was not able to make it BACK in the SAME day (due to having a child and other plans); when I asked if I could come the following day, they informed me this would be fine. I arrived the next day, to be told that what they would do to fix the separation is place nail glue between the acrylic and real nail. This seemed to me like a half-a**, unprofessional solution. I was then told that I would have to wait an hour for this FIVE MINUTE solution. I had arrived at 11:45am; when I asked if I could put my name down and return in an HOUR, I was told that would be fine and to be back around 1:30pm!! This time frame made it go from an HOUR wait to a HOUR & FORTY-FIVE minutes! Again for what ended up being a 5 minute "fix". When I returned the younger of the 3 stylists applied nail glue to the separation areas. This tacky, unprofessional solution not only caused sticky issues with the tips of my nails, but also caused nail glue to get on the skin of my fingers! Overall my experience at Magic Nails has been a total waste of money, and gas. I am extremely disappointed, and feel that the reviews for this business are misleading. I would never recommend Magic Nails to anyone looking for acrylic nails. I will NOT...
Read moreThere were only 2 staff members there when we arrived and based on their attitudes, it seemed like we were infringing on them. From the moment we walked in it was like we were being shooed away. I asked if they had samples of the polish and I was told no. I found the samples myself which they absolutely did have. Then when I finally found the colors and polish, Jennifer took one look at my nails and said if that's gel polish she's going to charge me an extra $5 to remove them since I didn't get them at their establishment. There were specs left! Ridiculous considering the money I was going to spend on the gel/ stamps/ glitter. I also find it hard to believe that a manicurist is incapable of doing a nail design other than a flower, especially considering some of the glowing reviews I see on here. Maybe myself and my daughter came at the wrong time. Maybe she was expecting a regular. Maybe the experience is entirely different for a regular. Whatever the case may be, I expect better service than this....
Read moreThe people were nice but it was apparent they didn't know much about gel manicures. To take off my pre-existing gel, they soaked my entire hand in acetone which is horrible for your skin, then she aggressively peeled the gel off which is horrible for your nails! She then filed my nails square after asking for round tips twice. My polish was VERY streaked with small bubbles on every nail. When I asked her to get rid of a clump, she simply painted over it resulting in a larger clump. The LED lights they use are also outdated, very hot and left my hands sweating! It is very over priced for the product they produce. I would not recommend this salon for a gel manicure (or...
