I don’t normally go out of my way to write negative reviews, especially when it’s a locally owned business, but our experience at this restaurant was so awful that I felt it necessary, at least as a warning to others. This was our first time trying this place when I ordered takeout for lunch yesterday. When we walked into the restaurant to grab our order, the smell inside immediately turned our stomachs. It just smelled rotten. The atmosphere in the small, open kitchen in the center of the restaurant looked really dirty, and there were dirty dishes and buckets piled up right next to the stove that looked like it hadn’t seen a cleaning in years. There was only one woman in there doing everything by herself, which is probably the main issue. My husband looked over at me, and his face clearly said "Why tf did you order from here?!" It was too late though, the damage was done. I paid the lady a little over $30 for the drunken noodles, Penang curry, and spring rolls, and left. The smell carried over on the ride back, and without even seeing the food, my husband said “There’s no way in hell I’m eating that.” When we got back to our spot, I opened the boxes just out of curiosity before throwing it all in the trash, and the sour, rotten smell from the drunken noodles was so overpowering, that I had to immediately take it out to the dumpster. To be honest, I’m not sure that place would pass a health inspection, and I’m pretty disappointed that I’m out $30. If that woman is the only one running the show in there, she should probably consider hiring some help before...
Read moreI was driving through and decided to stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Didn't expect it to be a Thai restaurant, but I'm glad it was.
Upon first entering, you do notice the setup is still post-c*vid so there restaurant is still set up as a to-go place, but there are a few tables set up for dine-in. There were tables with to-go menus, boxes, and to-go utensil packages ready for customers. There were many plants inside, and the feel of authentic Thai art and vibes were pleasing.
Water was served in a bottle, which was nice as I would take that over city tap water any day. The menu was large for a small restaurant, and I'm glad there was a tofu option on most of the dishes.
The owner is the only worker in the building, so we chatted for a while. It sounds like a struggle these days, with the rampant homeless in the area and constant spam calls to local businesses, albut the owner was still pushing through the hard times. I arrived as soon as they opened, which was nice as I didn't have to wait for a table. I wish people would stop at local restaurants over the chain restaurants down the street. I find it hard to see people struggle even more when they struggle with a business in a city that caters to larger corporations.
The food was delicious, and it was the right amount. Not too much and not too less. Goldilocks would have been satisfied, too. This restaurant has been around for 41 years, and this may be their last year, so I'll be back to support them and bring awareness to small business, and especially small...
Read moreI ordered through a food delivery service and this was the only Thai restaurant available. This was our first and last time trying this restaurant. The food was not edible except for the sticky rice which was good. The Massaman curry literally tasted like boiled chicken strips in 2% milk. The curry was extremely watery and lacked all flavor. The pineapple shrimp curry had incredibly overcooked shrimp in the 2% milk curry with chopped up "canned" pineapples. I can not even describe the repulsive flavor of this dish. Unfortunately we had to throw out the order except for the sticky rice. I called the restaurant to see if I could return the order given it was not edible and she politely said no she would not provide a refund. I expected that she would have at least offered to remake the order but she just denied that it is possible that the food was bad. I would strongly recommend not dining at...
