I came here with my friends. Great safe place for flying a drone or also walking! This is the only legal place in Albuquerque you can fly a drone during balloon season, so the airspace can get a little crowded around sunset while the sun is best for pictures. The Rio Grande is so nice and big, but also murky and brown. (Not ideal for photos). My drone lost signal a few times while I was flying.. that was so scary. Maybe it’s the proximity of the road or the metal in the guard rails. Hopefully they fix the problem soon! There are some neat carvings on the trees of lots of COOL wildlife. Very impressive! After I flew my drone we went to a seafood boil restaurant and it was so yummy! I had a pound of unshelled shrimp in Cajun garlic butter sauce. (Watch out for the spike on their head!) Albuquerque is full of nice art and people, but not many places to fly drones. :(

There is a public restroom, and water fountain. The picnic areas are generally clean, but the restroom is not. There is a book depository at the sidewalk nearest the restroom. There are numerous trails which mostly intersect throughout the open space. The trails run next to the aquaduct, and the river. You can expect to see a variety of insects, small mammals and fowl, fish, turtles, and the occasional porcupine. The one drawback to this area is the parking lot. There aren't enough spaces for the amount of people who utilize the area, and the southern entrance has some very deep potholes.

Good location for a two mile out and back along the bosque. You can go farther but that's my typical go to. Plenty of side trails for a more solitary walk or stay on the east levee for an easy jaunt. Biggest complaint is there are absolutely ZERO trashcans along the main trail so nobody cleans up after their dog. If CABQ would put out some receptacles more folks would clean up after their dogs. Hard to believe but walking three miles with a couple of warm bags of poop in your hand detracts from the whole nature immersion vibe.

Before I start my river walk this morning I'm going to chill, relax, meditate and breathe in the sculpture garden. These beautiful handcrafted wood sculptors stand tall and proud yet faded showing their age and wisdom. There are coyotes howlin' at the moon and an eagle whose wings are soaring free! Donut miss the cute squirrel sitting high above a pole sneaking an acorn or two and that cranky crane overlooking the walkers and joggers. Creatures of the earth of all sorts carved out of wood trunks and put on display. #nmtrue and #localflavor awaits your Yelp adventure thru the sculpture garden. Come along with a few friends and create an adventure thru here and the bosque or come alone for some peace from the outside world. Either way your spirit animals will keep you calm as they guide you...
