Hot Air Balloon Adventure—New Mexico Part 1

What a great experience from this top notch company. From the pick up to our drop off, they did not disappoint. Our initial flight plans over Albuquerque were scrapped due to the winds heading straight towards the airport, so we headed south to the secondary launch site by the Rio Grande. Quite honestly it was a fortunate turn of events as the views from that location were absolutely breath taking. There was some concern due to rains the night before that it might be too muddy but our crew found a great take off spot. We found out later some other balloon companies from the area didn't do this and just cancelled their flight for the day. Well unfortunately those people picked the wrong company and missed out on a spectacular flight!!! After unloading and preparing the balloon for take off we all hopped aboard for our journey. Our very experienced pilot Brittany did an amazing job guiding us on our adventure. From her "corn trick" of brushing the top of corn stalks to flying by the orphanage in the area, with all the kids outside excitingly watching and greeting us her expertise in flying and controlling the balloon was very evident. We all felt completely safe in her hands for anyone who might have any concerns. Her true love of flying was also very evident, as when asked how she liked her job she responded with, "What job?" In fact all of the crew members displayed a true passion for what they were doing which showed in their positive attitudes. Our flight lasted a little over an hour as you are somewhat at the mercy of the winds but we were all happy to have a little extra time, and I don't think anyone wanted it to end. After a superb landing (that Brittany made look easy), we waited in the air conditioned van as the crew worked tirelessly to pack up the balloon (no easy task). From there it was a quick ride back to headquarters where we were all treated with Mimosa's, coffee, a well stocked snack tray, and visits from the company dogs and chicken (a true blueberry lover). My wife and I have been on many adventures and we both say this was one of the best we have ever done. That feeling of just gently floating over the amazing landscape and beautiful vistas was truly an experience we will never forget. I can't express enough how highly I would recommend a balloon ride here, but if you do be sure to book FLY ALBUQUERQUE... you won't be disappointed. Thank you to Brittany and all of the great crew there, you all made for an unforgettable trip. A big shout out to our driver who I'm embarrassed to say, I have forgotten his name (this happens at my age), but he made our drives very entertaining. Let's just say "The most interesting man in the world" has nothing on him! We hope to visit Albuquerque again in the future and if we do, a second flight with Fly Albuquerque will be first on our list!

So we booked the private flight… The experience that we had is, and will be an unforgettable time we shared with the team. It started at 530 am with the shuttle driver (Luis) which was there waiting on us because we got there early(address is the one on there google page) He was Very knowledgeable when it comes flying. We drove about 20-30 min to where the launch was going to be but didn’t seem like it. After we arrived at location they had a full crew prepping up the Balloon and let us help if we wanted too, and let us take pics inside the balloon before it rises, which was COOL. Gary our pilot introduced himself while they were prepping up and continued to make our time there enjoyable. Ounce the Balloon was ready for flight everyone helped us get in. And made sure we were comfortable before flight. Ounce we were up in air. Gary informed us on every location we passed by. And let me just say. He was GREAT. WE STAYED UP FOR ABOUT 1 Hr. When we landed Jim, Sabrina, Luis, and Gary all jump in action to help us out of the bin, talked with us about how it went. Which was GREATLY APPRECIATED. It showed they take pride in what they are doing. Ounce we were out. We decided to help them put the Balloon up which was really fun and shared time with the crew. Very Very enjoyable. After everything was put up. We had our morning mamosas and got to talk with the crew even longer and got to know them even more while we had a snack they prepped up for us by Brittney. Thank u Brit. But all round. I give them a 10 out of 10. Were extremely Happy with a unbelievable experience we got to share with flying Albuquerque. We will come back....

Where do I begin…this experience is one you will not regret!! My mom and I had planned to do a hot air balloon ride with a different company in Albuquerque, but it was unfortunately cancelled. We called fly Albuquerque, hoping that we would be able to book the following day as a replacement ride. Britney answered the phone promptly and was extremely gracious when I explained that we were headed to Albuquerque to commemorate my aunt reset passing. My aunt used to go up in the hot air balloon as she had lived in Albuquerque for decades. Britney quickly got us booked with her the following morning. Upon arrival at the meeting point, we were greeted by friendly staff (Luis) and were safely transported to Los Lunas. We arrived right at sunrise and had the opportunity to jump right into the basket. The additional friendly staff took our photos and wished us well on our journey in the hot air balloon ride. Britney was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel incredibly safe during the ride. She knows what she is doing! Very impressive technical skills too I might add! We had the opportunity to change elevations often and traveled the Rio Grande and agricultural areas. We lightly dusted the cornfields, which is a native American traditional blessing. The experience was extremely surreal and the most life-changing experience that I could’ve imagined. Forever grateful for the opportunity to commemorate my aunt in such a special way. Anyone considering a hot air balloon ride should go with Fly Albuquerque! You will not be disappointed! Thank you Britney and to the whole team! We are forever...
