Update: just wanted to add we are from San Diego where organic and healthy eating is a way of life and not just trendy. We have many wonderful places to shop (our Costco is basically an organic warehouse) for organic and healthy food as well as restaurants that cater to this demographic, so please realize Grassburger is a jewel of a restaurant - you won't be throwing money away at this restaurant - worth every penny!
My daughter and I were in Albuquerque accompanying my husband at a conference he was attending. We are an organic, grassfed, gluten free (and dairy free for me) and no processed food family. It is somewhat difficult to eat when we are at home, let alone go out of town to find healthy food that isn't processed food or food that contains ingredients that are going to make us ill. Sure, many times we have to make the best educated decision based on what is available and what affects our body/health, after all we DO have to eat. On top of that, my husband was working a 12-hour day and we are in an unfamiliar city and I am somewhat disabled. It was great to find food to eat and also have it delivered.
Needless to say, I was elated to find Grassburger who mostly met our food/ingredient criteria. Loved that they cook their fries in Avocado oil and not Canola (inflammatory) or Soy (hormone disrupter) and have gluten-free buns for the burgers or at least have the option to make the burgers into a bowl. However, the actual ingredients in both of these fries contain seed or soy oils, so wasn't jazzed on that note and feel there is improvement to be made in this area. Just eliminate the soy, in particular, since many folks have a sensitivity to it. The only thing I would add was that the food could have been hotter, don't know if that was an issue related to Grassburger or a failure by DoorDash to use some sort of insulated carrier from the restaurant.
I cannot speak for the other items: shakes, vegan, and other kind of burgers since we didn't order them. However, we were very pleased with the food we received (Bacon Cheddar burger, Grassburger with GF bun, and Mix-up Fries) and with the service and speed of delivery as well as the accuracy of the order. From the time I placed the order until it arrived at our hotel was approximately 30 minutes - awesome! You were able to opt in to receive text messages to keep you updated on your order and the delivery. There were two locations in Albuquerque that I could order from, however, their system automatically chose which location would prepare your order based on where you were located - one less thing for me to figure out. Additionally, I was happy to be able to order and pay from their website and not have to register with DoorDash or Uber Eats to get the food delivered; it was uncomplicated and the transaction with DoorDash, who delivered the food, was seamless.
Because of food sensitivities and other issues related to our health, we do not eat out very often and have not had mostly pleasurable experiences when we have, whether it has been eating at the restaurant or ordering take out. Thank you, Grassburger, for a great overall experience from ordering to enjoying your food. If and when we we find ourselves in an area with Grassburger, we will definitely order...
Read moreWe were refer to this place today by one of their workers who walked into our restaurant earlier and made such great claims of this location. So we decided once with close Our restaurant we would gather our children up and try it out . 1st off when you walk in the door you are greeted by a key os that allows you to start. We started the order placed our orders thoroughly and then when I went to pay we asked if we could bring in beer from next door because they're sign says beer and wine coming soon. The young lady explained to us that they now offer beer and wine but they hadn't updated their boards so I finished the transaction at the kiosk and went to the counter to order to create another transaction. By the time we sat down we noticed this this cute little corner for the children with picnic table in their our children decided to sit there. However for 5 people came out to deliver our food I were looking down at every table to find who this food went to I finally ask them what number they were looking for? they mention my name. When the order arrived at the table they could clearly see that my children were sitting next to us in the play area. We ordered our childrens burgers plain. Only one came that way. I asked them several times could you please hand my children's plates to them I had to keep asking because they were just not paying attention. The other thing is they took the opportunity to scold us as we had a red tag and because we were a kiosk we should have a green tag I explained to him that is something internal and not something that would fall on us. Also when I placed my wine the lady pulled the wind down off the wall and I asked her do you have a cold one she says yes I do but when my wine was deliver to me not only was it not chilled I had to ask for a glass of ice just to bring to proper temp this how ever watered down my wine. Also when I finally got someone because I was pinned in the corner to hand my children there food. I asked where my children drinks? They ask me what were the drinks 1 fountain drink & 1 Apple juice they said OK will be right back. A husband and I sat there waiting for 5 minutes watching about 10 people behind the counter never acknowlege in the missing drinks and finally had to get up and let them know we're waiting on a drinks I also took The opportunity when I walked up to the counter to let him know that the server had not acknowledged the drink she was going to be bringing to the table not only did she not bring it but that we were referred here and I was very disappointed with the customer service at this point. So as I sit down to eat my Burger bowl that I ordered with quinoa I noticed its rice I'm very little quinoa On top of that we were asked to tip in advance for the poor customer service that we received afterwards. Think twice before you try this place patties are only about 3 oz and you pay about 8:50 burger only to pay an additional 3:50 to add more protein to it I would probably just go to...
Read moreLast week, my cousin and I went into Grassburger for the first time. It was a hard time in my life, my father had recently died, and we had no desire to cook.
I wanted a veggie burger - I'm a vegetarian for over 30 years.
Grassburger came up on a google search and was near enough the house. At the time, I had no idea how perfect it was for a household with a vegetarian, an onion allergy, and a gluten/corn/soy free individuals.
We ordered online and our food was ready by the time we got there, however our order wasn't fully accurate - and I'm not surprised. Looking at the receipt on my phone I'd be super confused the "no onions" "sub sautéed onion" and would err on the side of caution too. Also my added Swiss was missing on my veggie burger.
We went back in, and the kindest worker had my sandwich fully remade, while I enjoyed their vegan chocolate milkshake - made very well the first time. My cousin decided she wanted one too, and as a consolation for getting our order incorrect, hers was on the house.
They didn't have to do that and we 100% expected to pay for the strawberry shake.
Everyone's food was fantastic - even with the wait to remake my black bean burger.
They told me to just keep the other bean burger.
One week later, I put it in the toaster oven to reheat, added cheese, avocado and spinach.
It was delicious.
One. Week. Later.
I was already looking forward to going back on this NM visit. Now, not only will I go back but I'll bring friends and am obviously posting this glowing review.
The chef who mismate the first veggie burger even handed the new one to my cousin and apologized for the first mix-up!
Their customer service is truly exemplary. I hope their workers are well compensated....
