This park is just beautiful! I am from Texas and was visiting the area during a trip with my dog in October. This park had a fenced in area for dogs to interact and play off leash. There were water fountains and some communal toys. The mix of dogs and people was ok. The day we went there was lots of barking and owners who weren’t entirely watching their dogs or prompt with correcting. This caused us to venture away from the crowd toward the end of the fence line where we found another gate. Upon passing through that gate, that’s when the park became so beautiful. We saw others with their dogs off leash and didn’t see signs stating on leash was required. So we went ahead to the sports field area and found peaceful bliss! A local joined us under a tree and mentioned it is technically on leash in that part and there is a local jogger who gets upset and confronts people about this. We didn’t have any issues and the other handful of owners with their dogs off leash were kind and much more aware of their dogs’ behaviors. It reminded me of Zilker Park in Austin but with mountains! Love this place and would still recommend to anyone passing through. 4 stars because of the lack of awareness and control of pet owners in the main fenced in dog park section. 5 stars for the sports field area that may or may not...
Read moreUSS Bullhead Memorial Park is a fabulous place for everyone who loves lots of space to spend outside. My dogs absolutely love it and I do too! The large field seems to go on forever, and it is mostly safe since there are almost no cars (unless you are hanging out in the parking lot). The enclosed dog parks (two enclosed areas) are nice too, with lots of poop bags that are offered on almost every corner of the park, and there is also water for the dogs, this is so nice. What is not so nice though, are a couple of looney tunes that hangs out in the park who has a lot to say about “the other dog owners” who comes to park—talking about the other dog owners who breaks the park policies, although they seem to break the policy themselves (doing other things that are against the park policies); just ignore them, otherwise, most of the dog...
Read moreThis place would be great, but unfortunately, it is ruined by "Husky Guy". This man's huskies have attacked not only my dog, but many others as well. If you ask folks at the park, everyone has a Husky Guy story.
He continuously lets his poorly-behaved dogs (3-5 dogs at any time) bite, nip, bark and intimidate other dogs. He's too busy on his phone to even look up, much less manage their poor behavior. Most dog owners, like me, leave when they see him pull up or just don't bother to bring their dogs when they see his truck in the parking lot.
Husky Guy drives a red truck with a shell cap over the bed and has out of state Arizona plates. I wish he'd get the hint and either manage his dogs or go terrorize another dog park. He's there every....
