This is a great place to have lunch! The have a very limited and simple menu that they perfected so well! The chicken is always juicy and delicious and the potatoes are the best! They really know their food! The staff are very helpful and kind, finding you any you need and answering any questions you have. Just be forewarned that this place can get VERY busy during lunch because everyone in town knows how good it is. I would highly recommend stopping by here and supporting this local business, they are great!

This place just feels good! You will always be surrounded by good company while you enjoy consistent, unbelievably delicious Peruvian food. We visited this restaurant often, dine-in and to-go, while our son was stationed at nearby Kirtland AFB and it quickly became obvious why this is a base fave! The owners are kind and community centered, proudly supporting the men and women who serve our country! This is a MUST eat whenever you are in ABQ!

I ordered the chicken and cilantro rice combo and it was absolutely delicious! The staff could tell I was in a rush and on my lunch break so the food came out very quickly and was top notch. Chicken is soft, fresh, and seasoned deliciously. I love the sauce it comes with and the rice was also very tasty. The fried yucca root and corn drink is also to die for and I highly recommend it! Will absolutely be back to try more stuff on the menu.

Chicken with potatoes. They really did master that craft.

I got a chimichanga and a stuffed potato from here, and from how it looked I was already impressed, let alone the taste!

The chimichanga was fried PERFECTLY with the right amount of crisp and packed to the brim with chicken. The chicken itself was juicy, well seasoned, and just delicious. It is safe to say it's very high up on my list of quality chimichangas.

The stuffed potato was also fried PERFECTLY! It was creamy and soft with a crispy, flaky crust containing some bite back! Again, the chicken inside it was also of high quality. A McDonalds hashbrown is always going to be at least solid in quality, but that potato was AT LEAST 10 TIMES BETTER!

Even though they were deep fried, neither the chimichanga nor the potato were excessively greasy.

However, the icing on the cake was their aji sauce. This mayo-based sauce with aji amarillo chili and a hint of mint might have some crack with a dab o' doobage inside because it was straight 🔥! It's that good! I must have downed a quarter of a whole bottle while adding it to both the potato and chimichanga. I am not ashamed of that.

And I got all this for about $13. Considering 2022 inflation, that is a bargain! Well done!

Overall, their mascot is a great metaphorical representation of the food as it sits on the plate and stares at you. It is ready to punch your tastebuds with a chicken delight!

After having a couple short conversations with the owner it is clear that he is critical of the food that comes out the pass, yet excited and passionate about it. These are both excellent qualities in a restaurant owner. I will be back...

Total Disappointment: Poor Quality, Overpriced, and Health Issues

We visited this restaurant with high expectations, hoping to relive the experience of enjoying Peruvian-style chicken and fries, as we have done in over 20 different places in Lima. Unfortunately, the experience was not only disappointing but also harmful to our health. Lomo Saltado: The meat was extremely tough, as if low-quality cuts had been used or it was poorly cooked. It was impossible to enjoy. Rotisserie Chicken: Old, dry, and with a taste that clearly indicated it had been reheated. It was nothing like the juicy and flavorful chicken we expected. French Fries: They seemed reheated and fried in old oil, with an unpleasant taste and a texture that made their lack of freshness obvious.

To make matters worse, two out of the seven people in our group ended up with stomach problems after eating there. This raises serious concerns about the hygiene and handling of food at this establishment.

We paid an outrageous amount for what turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Honestly, you’d eat better and safer at a fast-food place for a fraction of the price.

If you’re looking for an authentic and safe Peruvian food experience, this place should be at the very bottom of your list. I wouldn’t recommend it under any...

I stopped by out of curiosity and this place instantly became one of now-4 restaurants to eat at. (The original 3, for decades, has been El Modelo, Powdrells, and Frontier/Golden Pride). I knew nothing about the food when I walked in yet the kind woman explained it to me patiently. I started with the drink made with purple corn and pineapple and that alone would have me back again. I ordered a chicken stuffed potato, a veggie stuffed one, and the yuca fries. The cucumber sauce is perfect. The purple onions added to the chicken are perfect, and my dog who NEVER begs even for raw meat was begging for the yuca fries. My partner and I unfortunately for the dog polished off even most of the crumbs. Next visit, which will be tomorrow, we hope to get past the Appetizers and Drinks sections of the menu. But those veggie potato things ..... !!!!!!!!! OMG!!!! Who NEEDS to get past the Appetizers part of the menu???? It is hard to get on my decades old list of good places to eat as you can see by the time the others have been in business but these folks made it. I also loved the wall of pictures of happy children eating and plan to ask more about that tomorrow --- I'm sure there's a story there. Enjoy eating here ---...
