As a asian , every month i go to 999 supermarket near by Gibson . Yesterday I go with my son and my mother in law . While i was looking what i need for today meal , my mother in law was with my son looking around by aisle . My son was started to getting fussy because it his nap time . While that happened , unfortunately a thief came by near my son stroller and grab my mother in law handbag . We only realized that the handbag missing when we bout to checkout . According to my mother in law , she never leave the stroller other than she takeout the carseat and make the carseat look forward so my son can look around . Long story short , i able to recover her purse that had car key , iphone 7plus , some business card and stuffs but then her wallet missing . Thank to Find Iphone app , i able to track her phone and found the handbag in one the aisle on bottom shelf hiding behind the box that she walked by with my son when she changed the carseat position . She loss 2 id , 2 social security number, 2 cheque book , 3/4 credit card and debit card , 400 dollar cash and some gift card worth about 100-200 dollar . We so upset with what happened but we more upset about how people in there ( staff who worked there including manager ) who so heartless and not helping at all , Not even concerned to asked what going on or what can they do to help ! Side note , when we walked in there , there not alot of customer , only employees who stocking the shelf . And i personally remember how many peoples around us ! I had very strong feeling that it one of the employees but i just not going to throw dirt on anybody face without a prove . The manager of the store wont let us see the CCTV and dodge our question around . It so frustrated when they pretend they cant speak english ! As one of asian , i feel so horrible with what happened . I am thankful that my mother in law and my son was safe and sound but the service we got is totally worthless and heartless , That it ! They even know me as one of their regular customer but sorry not sorry , This is the last time i going there ! No more . whoever that steal it , enjoy your early christmas present . I believe what go around will come around . Happy...
Read moreAs someone who's been to many different Asian supermarkets all across the United States, this is probably one of the most saddest ones. I've seen. The ambiance is depressing and there was no music. The guy behind the fish counter had his arms leaned over the display on his phone and yawned every 10 minutes or so very loudly. Prices are often misplaced or not there. The organization of the area itself was very confusing. The sauce area seemed to be all over the place, one area had hoisin sauce and the next area also had hoisin sauce hidden amongst the soy. The prices also seemed kind of high considering the atmosphere. I was really excited to come here after looking over some of the reviews.
The vegetables did look fresh and they did have some fruits and veg that are hard to find. This is a place that needs to downsize to be good. Right now it's too spacious and depressing.
They did have a barbecue area but just one sad roasted pork hung on the display. The restaurant area of the supermarket was completely closed off despite what their...
Read moreI showed up at 999 one day in a desperate attempt to find fresh fish, and was met with the worst store I had ever been in. One word: hygiene. The entire place smelled like rotting fish, and there was suspicious-smelling liquid all over the floor. (No surprise, it was fish juice.) The store did not look or smell like it had been cleaned in a very long time, and I was honestly pretty scared to buy even a sealed bottle of Sriracha.
In summary, I wish you could give a place zero stars, because 999 honestly shouldn't even have one. If you're looking for international food, I 100% recommend Talin Market on Louisiana and Central, as their store is extremely clean and very well stocked. For fish, try a Smith's - and Whole Foods sells pre-packaged sushi grade fish in their sushi section, which is exactly what I was looking for in the...
