It was very disconcerting this is like the third time this has happened. I went in there was no greeter there was a man who appeared to be about 95 and I'm not exaggerating standing there with plastic gloves on he didn't say hello he just stood there. I was concerned because I had something I was returning and I wanted to make sure that someone knew I wasn't absconding with something. I went to the customer service desk there was no one there I stood there for about 10 minutes no one showed up. I asked the three cashiers and they just shrugged their shoulders. Finally the woman showed up I was just probably about 70 and she was anything but pleasant. I don't understand what has happened to the store. 6/30/22 to registers open only in the store was extremely crowded. This happened so often at Meijer they have so many registers that could be open but they're not and then customer service there's no one there at all zero.. then someone approaches customer service 10 minutes later. There are no old employees at the store the ones that were there for years. The people who are there that are new certainly don't seem very happy. Today went to Meijer Algonquin Illinois and things surely aren't better. There's only one employee that has stayed that I can see. The entire store is being revamped things are being moved. For the most part prices are post a double what they were pre-pandemic. This isn't a bomb supply and demand because the shelves are stocked. All new employees. There was one register open and that was it. There was a clearance rack that had a percentage off of clothing only on red tag items. I carefully went through only the red tags went forward and was told that it wasn't the exact same red color it was slightly pink so I could not get the percentage off. I have never seen anything like this ever Meyer was always the go to store since I moved here. Red potatoes 5 lb used to be a $1.99 now...
Read moreTo the rude employee at the self check out, this is the second time an employee at this Meijers has been rude to me when I have asked for help. Today around 12:35 I was checking out a few items from the self check out, when the system stated "please wait for assistance." Which I did, and saw a Meijers employee walking right there I politely said "excuse me I need some help it says I need an associate" to the employee 1. Talked to me like I was a child 2. Asked me if I needed technical assistance with the machine and required a technician, which I replied yes but she asked this TWO MORE TIMEs "so you are requiring assistance of a technician to assist you with the machine" to a point I thought she was joking or confused with me given her tone. Then she said this will require the help from another employee behind me who I didn't see and was helping another customer and she waved her over and left and just walked aimlessly in the front of the store. I am all for having a bad day, but I do not appreciate being talked to like I was inconveniencing an employee of a store, talked down too, and none the less she didn't help but literally walked away and just walked around up front after she waved a different employee over. This is the second time I have encountered such rude employees at this Meijers which is sad because I normally like this store but will do our best to take our business elsewhere. **I did not catch the employees name but I wish I did because I would love to relay this feedback to her supervisor. I have never seen her before and do most of my shopping during the week but she was not working at a cash register so may be a manager or supervisor...
Read moreI was a meijers this past Sunday(07/06/25) with my wife and we were in the fruit department were we saw a bag of peaches, the price above the bag clearly was marked at $1.49 for the bag, when we went two place the bag, i'm a scale to print out the price. It came up at over $3.00, i brought this to the attention of a female employee who stated that the price above the bag was misprinted, I stated in return that the misprint was not my issue, she then proceeded to get the department manager where he then stated the same issue that it was a misprint. I then also stated to him that that was not my issue, there was also a employee standing off to the side throwing, in her opinion that we should have understood that it was not $1.49 for the entire bag but $1.49 a pound, that is when I stated to all the employees that were there for the situation that the lb( that is the abbreviated version of pound) was not printed on the sign so anyone that was to look at that sign could make the same assumption that I had that it was a $1.49 for the bag, when that fact was pointed out, both managers gave me a 100% garbage attitude, basically telling me that I was wrong and that the typical customer would have known better, The department manager finally gave in and gave it to me at that price. But I will tell you one thing more likely than that I will never shop here again if this company is so worried about a 2 dollar difference i will definitely take my hard earned money somewhere else, this is why people in general hate big business(and here is the item in question just in case you...
