BUBS SUBS — Restaurant in Algonquin

My first time coming here although I've driven past it numerous times. So here's my first impression.

The place is small but so are a lot of other places. It has nice older pictures hanging on the walls, and decent enough seating for those who would like to dine in.

The service I'd say was exceptional! Friendly staff all around, and definitely made a great first impression. They all knew what they were doing, made some chit chat while I awaited for my order to be complete, and just seemed genuinely friendly. I just wish I had cash to give a tip for their service. Next time I will make up for it as long as they continue to provide the great service they did for me today.

My wife ordered the Godfather sub. She absolutely enjoyed that sub, and I ordered the Club Bub. The Club Bub is a basic sub with ham, turkey, cheddar cheese, and bacon plus anything else you add. The bread is crisp on the outside and fresh on the inside, and the cheddar cheese gave this sub a great taste to it. I hardly tasted the bacon, but the sub was quite enjoyable. The Godfather sub consists of Mortadella, Spicy Capicola, Genoa Salami, & Provolone, & anyhhing else you add. My wife did enjoy her sub although she wanted a little more spice to it.

I had the day off, didn't feel like making food for myself and my two kids. I pulled into Bubs, knowing how much i like it, and actually had my first kid out of the car. I stop and think, "No, let's do something new. " I went elsewhere, won't say where, it wasn't far from Bubs. Ate a substantially sized lunch, I wasn't hungry after eating. I got in my car, drove over to Bubs and bought lunch for my wife and a sandwich for myself for later. I felt as though I had cheated on them.

What a top notch sub style sandwich shop. I could drink the chipotle mayo, the right kind of French bread (golden brown, light crispy outside, soft chewy inside), house made giardiniera, very nicely priced. It hits the spot every time. Very well done. I tell everyone looking for a good sub that Bubs is the place to go.

Feel bad I didn't catch the name of the gentleman I talk to every time I go there. Assuming he's the owner if not at least the manager. Nice friendly banter, no nonsense. Thank you guys, hope you're around for...

Holy cow Batman! This place is AH-MAZING!! Just moved here and was missing my favorite sandwich shop when I found this gem. And let me just say this might be better then my hometown sandwich shop. The reviews are true. If you like spicy the El Nino and Firebird are hands down the subs I'll be back for. But I believe the quality of the product is beyond top level. The freshest ingredients!. But mostly I'll be returning for the employees!. The three behind the counter at lunch were so nice! Explained everything. Reassured my menu choice. Were quick and made the line move seamlessly!
