I have never been treated so poorly by a manager in my life. I spent over $300 today at this store and the cashier Eliza asked me if I wanted to apply for the credit card, so I agreed because I was going to save 20% on my purchase. The cashier entered my information wrong five different times, I asked her to please slow down and that there was no rush and she still entered my info wrong so I asked her if she could call over the manager and maybe have her do it. I asked the Manager if she could try putting my info in and explain the situation. She immediately was annoyed that she had to help me and was making passive aggressive comments to her employee in front of me making it seem like I was the problem. I asked her to stop speaking to her employee in front of me as if I wasn’t there. She then proceeded to tell her employee loudly that the computers are weird and she didn’t do anything wrong. Never once was I aggressive or used profanity towards either of these employees. Finally, I had told Manager that I was getting frustrated on how the situation was being handled and that I’m a customer spending a lot of money here and also applying for a credit card and I did not appreciate how I was being treated and I had asked for her name and her employees name. Her employee flipped her name, upside down and the manager told me that she was not giving me her information or her name and that she was going to call the police and have me kicked out of her store. The manager had caused a scene in front of all the other customer trying to get me to leave the store and embarrass me. The icing on the cake was right after she told me that she canceled my application for the credit card. I filed a complaint with corporate. I will not be returning to the store, unless that manager...
Read moreI stopped by this location last weekend. Probably the first time I've been to a Michael's in over 20 years. I was specifically looking for some gifts (as an artist to another young artist) and started with artist markers and found the selection and prices unsatisfactory. I shifted gears and checked out the portfolios. Most of the price tags were missing (from the goods) and I wasn't sure which was which. I (stupidly?) assumed the person at the register would be able to assist. The bedazzled cashier (glorified check-out watcher?) told me I could go back and check... I did so and decided I wasn't in the mood for crawling around on the floor to see price UPCs (to ring the item up) so I abandoned what was probably a $40+ item and grabbed a $12 portfolio book (plastic slip pages). I did check online and was further irritated to see that the type of portfolio I had wanted to buy was on sale, but online only.
When I got back to the check out, the cashier did not inquire as to whether I found what I was looking for or offer any additional help.
I walked out after using my 30% off coupon on the one item and felt massively regretful that it was Sunday and a certain competitor was closed....
Read moreThey have a lot of really awesome stuff for great prices, and the entire staff seems very nice and willing to help you out even if your question isn't in their area. For example: the lady who worked in the framing shop ran all over the store with me helping me find art maquettes, journals, embroidery floss, and tried to find 18ct Aida cloth in the 2 colors I needed in the back. She was amazing.
I also got several compliments on my TARDIS scarf and Gossamer hat, as well as 3 people asking me where I got the Twisted Stitches cross stitch book I was buying supplies for. So highly geek friendly.

Now that my mobility is restricted it's a nightmare of pain to walk through a store, but I still like wandering. The smaller of the 2 store provided wheelchairs looked rickety but was rather comfortable. My fiancee was able to push me through the store with no issues and no shopping cart cosplay. Pretty much every employee asked us if we needed help when they saw us and didn't hover after we said no thanks. The physical shelves are running a bit bare, I noticed several things had remained un-restocked since I was there last month.
Overall, still my favorite...
