Have you ever had a meal where you actually cried while consuming it? before my visit to this sonic, either have I. i stopped there as a quick, "I'm hungry so I guess I'll eat" bodily maintenance. but I had no idea what kind of heavenly treat I just set myself up for. I've never been to a sonic but have watched many of the commercial that make me say, "I should try Sonics". sometimes out loud whether I'm alone or not. but to any one wishes to have the most pleasant taste bud party in the history of taste bud parties, I implore you to get your keys (or take someone's if you don't have a car) and get to the nearest Sonics and get those golden and delicious tots!!! I ordered them and audibly screamed after I popped the first nugget of perfection in my mouth. I've never tasted such a masterful combination of crunchy salty goodness!! I couldn't stop throwing them one by one into my gullet! tears were flowing down my face like the Mississippi river! I had visions of a man welcoming me into a world referred to as paradise! after I was done inhaling the last of my tots I was scared of what my life would become now that they are gone. what will I do? Will I ever be happy again? why did the man in my vision look like Daniel tosh? idk. but I do know you need to get over to sonic as soon as possible. I'll be the one sobbing in...
Read moreStopped for food somewhere else but we made a special trip over to Sonic just for the Grillo's Pickles seasoned tots that we had enjoyed before. After 9 dollars for two large orders of tater tots to go along with our meal, we got home and found just about zero seasoning anywhere to be seen and definitely could not taste it either. Weird that a few sprinkles of seasoning on a limited promotional item was too much to do, and these tots were the only thing we ordered. Saw a few specks of pickle seasoning on the cardboard so it's not that they entirely forgot to do it or mistakenly gave us plain ones. Sonic is further away from us than other convenient places and we had actually only started going here while this pickle menu stuff was going on and after two or three visits we probably won't keep Sonic in the rotation. Went online a few days later to complain about the order and noticed on the receipt big bold warnings about no refunds only store credit. Seems like they must have a lot of people asking for refunds if it was important enough to be the very first line on the receipt...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Sonic after many years away. In the past I was never impressed and didn't really get this restaurant. But, my visit yesterday was outstanding. When we arrived the entire parking lot and drive through were full! It was impressive seeing that team work to deliver the high quality experience to all during a lunchtime rush. That feat aside the food at this restaurant was extremely delicious. It may be what I have heard from others about Sonic in general. But, I would like to think that it's this Sonic Drive In of Algonquin Illinois that opened way back on December 4th 2008. That has perfected the food and experience and continues to deliver day in and day out. Few notes because of the novel corona 19 virus global pandemic only two picnic tables are open for seating. Most are encouraged to park and order from your car. The use of the sonic app is also highly recommended. With the app happy hour is 24/7 if the restaurants are open. Additionally a beautiful set of sculptures can be admired across the street to the west near some crabapple...
