aHhHh I just found out the meal plans are being made on FRIDAY..and they are recommending to freeze them by THURSDAY if not eaten. I wish I wouldāve known that before purchasing my meal plan. Iāve taken enough servsafe courses to know thatās disgusting. I wonāt even eat my own personal leftovers after 3/4 days and theyāre telling us 6 days. Thatās crazy. Iāve tried this place a few times before knowing that information and I didnāt enjoy it then either. Itās not transparent enough for me. They claim the meal plans are never frozen, but being a chef and working in the food industry for 15+ years, I can tell when meat is previously frozen. When I asked if any of the fresh meal plan food was ever frozen, the cashier had to go ask her manager. When she returned she told me they prepare all meals on-site.. Which was not my question. I have since found out that they prepare frozen, mostly non-organic meals, that they thaw in a fridge for customers to pick up throughout a 7 day timeframe. Thatās not health.
The full list of ingredients are not posted on the frozen to-go meals, which makes me hesitant to buy. When I asked about specifics, the older woman manager seemed annoyed. Her response- āitās not the law to post it allā¦at least somethingās on there. We never used to label at allā While thatās technically true, why so defensive instead of helpful? What an off-putting response. ?? Arenāt you supposed to be promoting Clean eating?
I was also told āwe just add waterā to make their sauce. Thatās NOT freshly made nor preservative/artificial free like their website states. Their website also says they have fresh fruit for their smoothies, which is also a lie. The things they sell are hardly clean - just portion controlled.
I didnāt like the vibe at all. Hopefully something similar opens up nearby because the concept could be amazing if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time here and I cant lie I was hesitant. Its a strange place and IDK if they are really a restaraunt or a meal prep kitchen. searching their website it brings you to a site that is more dedicated to the meal prep then the restaurant. And their menu is quite weird too.
Build your own bowl is IMO agressive and they should have pre designed bowls to make ordering easier. Cant say i trust Burgers from a health food place. So that really leaves Wraps salads and smoothies. And again i can't say it feels like the focus. Maybe i would say smoothies seem like the focus and Food at smoothie places normally isnt good (see tropical smoothie cafe) but again it all feels like a back seat to the Meal prep.
I went in there to try a few frozen meals. I am on a diet and looking for different things to eat. I can only eat Chipotle and chicken sandwiches and subway so often b4 i get sick of it. They seemed to have some interesting meals online.
Walking in there is a full wall of frozen Meals. Some quite interesting. I got one called a Brisket con Queso pasta. And another called Bloomin onion chicken. I honestly was not expecting more than a frozen food section meal.
Trying the brisket i was very surprised. The meat actually held up despite being frozen. A hint of bbq along with cheezy pasta. It was very good especially for something different and coming in at under 600 calories.
I will probably update once i have the chicken. But so far I am pleasantly surprised and will likely be trying more.
I would urg anyone like myself to give it a try. Even if its just a frozen meal or two. I can't speak on the Restaraunt made to order food. But its definitely higher quality frozen meals than a Lean Cuisine like I expected and would make a great meal for work. Or for those who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo one of my most recent favorite things has been this place! I have been trying some different healthy meal options such as cooking for myself at home (yeah I suck at cooking) factor, home chef, etc but it all just got too expensive or took too much time. I had always seen this little place on my way home from the gym and I decided to stop in and I tried a few of their freezer take home meals. I was skeptical, but as I tried the first meal I couldnāt believe how great it tasted, it tasted like a cheat meal if Iām being honest!!! (it was the BBQ Beef Mac and Cheese) and since Iām counting calories right now, how low of calories were in it š After enjoying that and a few other frozen meals I decided to order some of the fresh meals from their meal plan that you pick up either on Sunday or Monday. The cool thing with them is itās not a subscription, I can buy however many meals I want, if I want to save some money, I can but 10 meals which makes each meal only $7.70 each. If I had a garage fridge you better bet I would take advantage of the 21+ meals for $6.85 a meal! I'm super excited I found this place and how affordable it is compared to factor and other similar services, not to mention how yummy the food has been so far! I decided to stop in after a workout and try one of their protein smoothies, this was the Straw-Nana-blast and was such a great treat after a 2 hour workout! šļø also both of the employees who have helped me have been...
