Just moved into the area and found Woow Sushi. On my first visit, which was a slow time, I ordered my favorite custom roll. It was executed flawlessly, AND I was given a fabulous appetizer sized surimi/avocado salad (which I’ve daydreamed about since). There were 2 other patrons at the counter, and three chefs behind the Neta case. My custom roll includes a thin line of wasabi inside, as well as some gari (ginger), avocado and tempura ebi (shrimp). It was served and executed exactly as ordered and was perfect. I thought about that roll for 2 weeks. I returned a few days ago and ordered it again. The restaurant was even slower this day, same number of chefs’ behind the neta. My roll came, but this time , no surimi salad. My second bite of my roll was all wasabi. Damn near knocking me out. The shrimp seemed to have been leftover from lunch (I was there around 2:00). I asked for my bill and saw the server had taken my order perfectly, word for word, even wrote “little wasabi”. I paid my bill, $18.50 or so and left a tip. I’d never make a scene in a restaurant. I just expect to be asked how my meal was, and leave. There was none of that. The good news is there are more sushi...
Read moreWe came here for dinner for the first time. Just three of us with our baby boy. Got seated in what we call the “forgotten back room.” Our table was in the very back corner. We even found an employee work shirt on the bench seat which suggested that our table was used as staff break table. We just laughed at it. Had to ask a different server for chop sticks and napkins as our table was never set. Had to ask a different server for tempura sauce for our tempura as well. Half our food came and the rest was VERY delayed. I may be over observant but it seems like they tend to seat families with children in the “forgotten backroom.” Possibly to keep the noise of children in the back. The ambiance is different than the tables in the front of the restaurant. No music like the front. This is a huge disappointment. I guess it’s like the other reviews, they’ve gone down hill. Wish we came here when it was still good. Don’t come hungry as you will wait a lifetime for your order. We ordered take out in the past and it was good. Really wanted to like this establishment but...
Read moreVisiting from Cincinnati and leverages Yelp to find Sushi joints near the RV park we're staying at. Our daughters requested sushi for their birthday dinner and Woow appeared to be a decent option. Called around 5PM for a 7PM reservation, and glad I did as they were pretty busy when we arrived.
Service was slow, but given how busy they were and how many servers there were it was OK. Server and busser were both friendly. Busser never let any of our drinks get too low, which is a plus in my book.
Our appetizers and sushi were very good and brought out as they were ready, which again is a plus for me. The rice tattoos on the sushi rolls was better than most and all of the fish and veggies were fresh.
My favorite rolls were the Black Thunder and Red Dragon, but all were good. Portion sizes were a little small, but quality was high, which is more important with sushi.
If you're in the area and aren't in a hurry, then I...
